Do it yourself Turbo Part 2 (Testing)

I am posting these pics for Snow Fever

Well things are going pretty good every time I take it out I'm making gains on the set up. I have just about 10 miles on it now on the grass and I really know what doesn't work. These pictures of the 800 RMK I put on here are part of the reason I'M doing this Turbo thing. This sled has a 24" wide by 156" track with a few 2" paddles. If you want to see a sled that KILLS ALL OTHERS in the DEEP stuff and Boondocking this is it! Thats 3 magazines laid against the track to show how wide it is. My buddy built and/or modified all the parts on this thing but the skis and seat.

i like the polaris no doubt she`s fun to ride.....and just so i understand your hoping the rx with your turbo will outdo this one? and i must have missed it but i`m assuming its no 700 under the hood

The Polaris has a 800 in it. I have no doubt it'll spank me 1st pass but this thing lays down a freeway for a trail after going through the powder, that should make a good launch pad for my Turbo. All the guys I ride with have some pretty good running $hi1 and now with the addition of my Turbo we should be able to drop into some awsome places and know were all coming out. That Polaris with that 24" x 156" track goes in the deep powder like a 136" x 1.25" track goes down a groomed trail. All the guys that talk about how hard the big long tracks are to ride should try this thing. This thing can make a mountain rider or boondocker out of your grandmother it goes that good in the deep stuff. I just hope the H.P. of my Turbo can help close the gap a bit.

That looks pretty wicked, that bright yellow paint job I did on my other buddies polaris would look good on that hood. Those lights you have on there look pretty mean.

You mountain guys sure come up with some wild #*$&@.I wish I had the time to dream up that stuff let alone the time to build it.Good job on the turbo.Mike

Took my sled for chew again last nite and I just have to slightly fine tune my clutching. This thing has better throttle reponse then last year, pulls waaaaaaaay the #uck harder, sounds tuff and is more then I expected! One word explains how its working
WOW
I talked to my dealer and he has the MC-express kit and he said he might come out on the grass with me when they finish his so I can see if the Bears $hit in the buckwheat or if my kit SUCKS the BIG ONE. I'll let you guys know if he comes out and how I do against his.

No, I never tried the other clutch, but it does seem to pull pretty friggin hard the way it is. I'm working on my weights right now, the wife is just heading down to Staples to buy me a gram scale. (Ussually I measure them at the mill and balance them but thats a PAIN) so now I'll be able to fine tune at home. Call Me.

Got tied up winterizing a boat last night, I'll try you tonight. I had to cut the nipple off of my wastegate actuator - wouldn't fit in the position it was pointing. I'm hoping I can TIG 180 degrees from where it was, and plug the original hole. Any idea how tough the diaphram is inside the actuator? I'm hoping that between heat sinks and a wet rag I'll be able to weld it without damaging the rubber inside, but I'll find out tonight...

Intercooler should be showing up any day, and I bought a spare turbo (and intercooler) just in case the one off the race car is pooched. Know anyone else that might be thinking of going down this road? - I might have some spare parts...

The one I bought was out of the Fall buying guide, page 114 and its a Sunbeam digital electronic postal scale. Item # 478657-S1 Description SP5. 5lb/2.2kg Capacity. Price was 46.99 Canadian. Works GREAT! Lkrcer Like the gauge I'll talk to my buddy at Lordco parts and see if he can source me one. Thanks. I had to make a little change on the bottom of my actuator as well, I use a mig and they make more heat and I jsut kept soaking it with a rag and its fine. I did a leak down test on it and it never lost any air. What parts place did you get this gage from?
