Starting
Starts every time. I had it 1 time on saturday that it would not start. After I turned it on it's side and it sat there till I got help to flip it track side down, it would not start. Let it sit and once the fuel pump cleared the air out of the line it started and ran great.
Guess the hill was too steep to ride from one side to the other.

Type of gas
Last winter, sled diddn't start at the first turn of the key. Was running on premium gas. Since i've put it back on regular, it always starts now at the first turn of the key.

Re: Type of gas
Just another reason why 4stroke is more efficient.......cheap gas. No need for the good stuff.
Same here. Used the sled all last year on regular and had no problems. This year I decided to use Preimum. First ride the sled would always start then shut off. After that I used regular and haven't had a problem since.fx10mtx said:Last winter, sled diddn't start at the first turn of the key. Was running on premium gas. 2008 RTX. I am having the fuel pump relay issue. I carry an extention cord and a hair dryer with me. Embarrassing and frustrating.

ms737 said:Had issues with starting when left outside for a few days. Just Clicking when key turned. Glad I read this forum because was able to bypass the relay and get my sled home. -25 Celsius. The relay had moisture in it and when left outside it froze up. It's a known problem. Brought it in and replaced with no issues on warrantee. I don't think there's much you can do with this issue as it's internal to the relay. I had filled the plug with dielectric grease and siliconed the top of the male end to keep water out when in a shop to thaw out. Too much snow getting into the compartment due to bad air vent design. I put on a Frog Skinz filter patch. It should work. 2009 XTX 3000 kms
How do you bypass the relay? Is there a link to that forum?
Thanks

I've never seen these relays.... That's a good thing I guess.
Can you just take a spare and put it in if it causes problems, or is it a major job to replace??
Oh yeah, what's pet screen??

relays
heres a thought on the relays freezing. I wonder if there is any relation to ones that are outside all the time and those that get put away in a nice heated shop to thaw out . the ones going in the heat , the outside of the sleds thaw but maybe some condensate inside the relays really doesn`t get a chance to dry completely because of being enclosed ?then when get out in the cold they freeze up??? just a thought that came to mind when Turk stated that his were "outside " nytros .
Turk said:2 nytros.....3800 miles...started every single time even at -30 with out fail. They are outside nytro,s tho & really don,t get inside much!
