On my '07 Apex, the seat always "pops" out from the tank cowling. Its about to rip if it happens again. I can lift the cowling and barely shove the seat under it, but I cant imagine this is right. The seat is tight otherwise.

I weigh 210 fully geared up, so Im fairly average. You might think a big guy could cause this. This sounds petty, I know, but I want my sled to look nice and its going to rip the seat.

Anyone ever have this problem? How do you remedy it?

Never had a problem with the seat, 260lbs geared up and ready to ride.

Something is messed up. Either the previous owner built up the seat/foam higher so it no longer fits correctly ...or pull the seat and check the "tabs" on the bottom side; the tabs should slide into the slots to keep the seat in place. It should look like this:

Here is what it does. I did make sure the tabs hooked correctly. Its very similar to bikes.

I don't get it. But if Im the only one with the problem, there must be something screwy.

dont think its too much foam

looks like a misalignment problem, gotta be the seat or the cowling. I would say the seat. check the tabs on the seat to make sure they are not bent or broken. seat should fit in smoothly. I am lucky I still have my original seat after 7 years of riding, no rips or tears.

mine fits in nice but its not snug, it can move with your hands and seems to bulge out right where the tunnel is? Doing that your boots also make the seat dirty there too so does anyone else have that problem?

It looks very much like you missed a hook up front to me had done that before myself remove and reinstall seat or at least pull up on that corner it should feel very much attached if it is in proper if not it will pull up.

Lots of options here boys. #1, and likely the bigest range of motion you have between the tank and the seat is where the tank mounts to the tunnel, there is slotted holes in the tank plastic, allowing you to slide it more forward or back. In your case, your tank looks all the way back. Simply loosen the nuts off, and slide the tank forward. All the other plastics with move in unison to this. The other option is to check how your j-bolts are mounting to your exhaust sheild, the tabs may be bent or the shroud may have moved. This should work, but otherwise, you could shim the tank.
