I have been testing the last couple days and I am very close to what I think will be the best setup you will be able to get for best acceleration and top end. Turk sent me a new setup to try and it worked extremely well. Was just pulling a little to hard on top. To date the best setup in a 1000 ft was his original setup but this did not pull on top. with the new setup I think this is as good as your are going to get on top. Will not be able to finish final test lost snow. Here is test results from yesterday original versus updated. Could only run 880 ft because of lack of snow.
Original
200ft 3.59 3.55
880ft 9.09 9.06 Pulling 10800-10850
Updated 4.2 arm 3.2 mid 5.2 tip
200ft 3.45 3.48
888ft 8.99 9.04 Pulling 10700
As you can see very strong on bottom but started falling off and this is because of difference in rpms. Turk said to drop 1 gram off tip which from what I experienced this should be almost perfect. Every combination I tried could not beat turks original in a 1/4 mile or less. This new setup is stonger down low and with pulling the right rpms on top will not fall off and will get the best top you are going to get with these weights in my opinion. Thanks Kurt

I was hoping to be able to maintain a nice straight shift curve by staying with OEM springs with these weights. In my case it's only possible with excellent traction conditions any loose snow it overshifts too much by dropping RPM to 10,100 with stock helix and white at 60deg.

This is for an attak. Yes mid December I tested Turks original setup against my best Pro-line setup. I had the pro-line setup dialed in the best I could get and the original setup was 2-3 sled lengths faster in a 1000 ft. With the updated setup I gained about another sled length down low. I have spent all winter trying the different setups Turk has reccommened and a few of my own and I believe if dialed in for your sled it will be hard to beat. There is alot of good kits out there but to get them dialed in it may cost you twice as much and still be not as good. I do all my testing on timers so the results are accurate. The drag & fly weights once you understand how each hole effects the shift curve I don't think you can beat the tuneabililty. And this is with the stock secondary. I just want to thank Turk for his help. For the price this is the best clutch kit out there. This is my opinion and in no way intended to offend anyone. Thanks Kurt

So is the updated setup with one gram less in the tip and 0 in overdrive. It definately in my opinion you best bang for your buck and the help you get here on TY is the best. Thanks goes out to all who share their setups and knowledge. Thanks Mark

There is no dought that this and most clutch kits will improve the upshift vrs the stock clutching,my new 07 apex gt now has 740 miles and it bone stock, this sled right now for a bone stock unstudded sled is close to being my fastest out of the box apex/attak i have had to date,my 07 rtx w/22 top gear would get you there a little quicker but most likely wont have the legs on top. This stocker comes out at 10,200 and runs to 10,600 than if conditions are hard enough and you run over 1/2 mile it will pull to 11,000 and runs 125-129 spinning the track, gps speeds are 109-111 best on a rr grade yesterday, and i still get 14-15 mpg,now if i can still get this kind of top end and milage i will start playing with this new dragonfly weight, can you tell me if you have had any better top end speed compared to your best stock set up, thanks for the great post. I have the d&f's set up with lots of weight in them with a home made pipe from a streetbike, and a home made airbox mod with a snorkel from an rx1 airbox added to the front, 23 gear.
A few guys had a radar gun out yesterday on a hard groomed section trail 1500-1600 feet with about 2 inches of loose stuff from sleds running over it, went 111. A stock apex went 107 with 55lb lighter driver.
I don't think the home made mods made all the diffference, and also I don't think there is any loss of top end with these ranps. I believe this is one of your concerns from other posts on theses ramps.

Thanks for you info, although i think the 23 top gear helped bring back some top speed on the snow drag strip you radared at. My sleds w/23 top all recorded the best top speeds over stock geared apexs on snow, now if we were on ice the stock gearing performs very good, but it is hard to beat that attak top gear on a shortie, well i am glad to hear the dragonfly will and can run as fast up top. Thanks Pete
