Took the sled out for half hour it was minus 28C and it runs better than I remember, only thing I can fault the right side handgrip and thumb warmer are not working, left one is fine, without pulling wires do these plug into harness somewhere accesible

In -28c, I wouldn't work neither 
Maybe they did work but you just didn't feel them. They take a while to warm up when running at speed. When you stop and let it idle, the power to them drops to almost nothing as they are controlled via PWM by the ECU.
Other than that, you can check their resistances. The connectors are just down the bar on each side.
Also check your main ground block for melted connectors and wires. It's taped in the harness just behind the fan. There is a bulletin and fix for this issue which is also avalable to VIP members.
If you don't have a copy of the repair manual, if you become a VIP member, you can get a copy of it from the VIP area.

Glad to hear there is a connector below the handlebar, will check that out will also check grounds, the left works fine nothing on right side, if I recall it was not working when I purchased the sled, looking last night there is grey epoxy around the rubber handgrip but on left side nothing leads me to believe the last owned was in there,In -28c, I wouldn't work neither
