My wife has an 04 RX1. Last year I was putting it away at the end of the riding season, and I noticed a clunk when I gave it gas(when clutch engaged). I moved it very little as when I revved it for clutch to engage it would clunk, and then it would slip, I haven't messed with it yet, but I think it is the secondary sheave that is the problem, or something to do with it. The primary spins and engages , but not the secondary. Any ideas , where to start??? Thanks guys !
Check the primary and secondary springs first should be fairly visible but normally when those bread the sled will creep at idle. Try to move drive shaft and jackshaft for slop ( bad bearings) or yo may need to take the free play out of the chain in the chaincase.
The clutches are normally bullit proof unsless she is drag racing I doubt she broke the secondary. To much play in the chain will cause clunk till the chain slop plays out.

Does the sled move forward when the primary engages?
Is the belt riding on top of the secondary?

Had a chance to mess with it, everything in chaincase looks ok, chain was a bit loose, nothing big. Fired it up, rev it up, watching the belt, it is not engaging on secondary , when it does, the rear suspension raises up, and extends, and it seems like it's locking up , like it's all bound up???? But then secondary will still slip. But it seems weird, almost like breaks r engaged, it rears up like it wants to go, but seems all bound up. Thanks guys!

Parking brake engaged ?
Check your speedo bearing as well it may be gone and causing track to pile up a bit not running true. It is underneath the secondary clutch.

With the rear of the sled in the air, are you able to turn the track by hand, Your should be.
If not you have to inspect the skid for any obstructions. You may have a problem With Your chaincase or bearings on jackshaft or driveshaft.
Thanks

Thanks for suggesting to check out skid!!! Sometimes it's easy to overlook the obvious ! I raised it up, n noticed the skid moved rather easy, there r no bolts holding the front pivot arm to sled!!

Makes sense.
Without the bolts holding the front arm in Place the skid moves forward hitting the drivers and effectively Locks Down the track form moving.
I assume this is what happened to you.

Correct ! At least that's what I have found! I drive it once last yr, that was to move it in the barn when the season was over, and I noticed it! Surprised she didn't notice anything!!! Looks like there is an aluminum bushing on each end of the shaft, then just a bolt and washer bolt on from the outside, any shims or washers on the inside between bushings and tunnel?? Thanks for the help guys!!
