FWIW,
Pulled the mono out of the 08 Vector GT to move the adjuster stop ring to pos. #2., and look it over.
Spun the bogies and found that all 6 were dry as a bone and ratchety after 1900 miles.
Pulled the seals and pumped in some syn. amsoil grease.
Roll nice, now
Had a bad vibration, thought it was the track, will see if it is smoother now...if we get snow.

Don't have an answer, I am insanely jealous of your 1900 miles.

Any complaints so far, besides the wheels?

Most every idler on any sled I have ever owned would only last around 2000 miles before the bearings were dry and rough.

metallicat,
i Should have said this was a yamahademo.com sled I bought it with 1400 miles on it.
No complaints , just posting a heads up...could be a common thing to check with the mono, My Viper skid bogies didn't get checked that often and i have 11500 miles on that skid.
2 rear idlers is all that were replaced.
Love the pull of this sled, well balanced also, the vibration at 30 to 50 mph is what I hope goes away with the bearing repack.

I didn't think that the stock bogie wheels were able to be greased. I thought the wheels were not able to be serviced or lubed for that matter?

These have a rubber seal on both side that can be gently pryed out w/a small flat blade screwdriver.
I pump a little syn. grease out of a gun, on both sides and replace the seals.
Trying to get a few more miles out of wheels that are otherwise perfect.
Did the left side drive and jack shafts as well.

I found that the bearings were dry on my 2006 Vector too. So I greased them. I have found that you need to regrease the jack shaft bearing every season and the drive shaft bearing every 2000 miles.

you can pop out and in the seals on those bearings only so many times before the bearings (wheels) need replacing because the seal wont hold any longer. the problem is the bearing can not be replaced on the stock yami idler wheels. I went to the port yamaha website and found wheels that are the same as the stock wheels but have replaceable bearings in them. Part # SMA-8FP-38-01-SL the SL on the end tells what color the wheels are, in my case i wanted silver. the 2 outside rear whees do not have replaceable bearings either so i will order this wheel for them 8-SMA-8FP38-02-SL.

Yea, that was sure a long wait to try my re-greased bogeys out. finally have some snow so i went out on the lake in the light and fluffy 6" we got the other night.
The vibration seems to have gone away ,so I think the dry bearings were causing it.
Will know better after this weekend after touring the great up nort woods of wisconnie.
Keep an eye on the "new" bearings yammie is using these days...didn't seem to have the same problems with other sleds in the past.JMO
