Hey All,
We all know our sleds dart all over with stock skis, so I suckered up for a pair of the new dual tuner skis. This is not a post about good or bad, as time will tell, but more a post about bolt on accessories. I just received my new skis, bolted on the 2 sets of carbides. Went to install, and nope, no fit. I figured out I now need new bolts and collars. They don't tell you this anywhere, so I figured I post this. Here are the part numbers for the stuff you'll need to bolt on to 2003-2009 sled:
(2) collar 90387-1012H-00
(2) bolt, flange 90105-10070-00
Maybe this will help somebody else, as the snow in my area is melting fast, and really wanted to sled this weekend, but no, gotta wait for more parts. I think it's a big conspiracy theory by Yamaha, buy a $$$$$ sled, now you want to make it handle, buy more stuff.

ski

what sled do you have, on my attak no problem used stock bolts and collars that were in new ski.

07 Apex Mtn. & 06 RS Vector Mtn.

I've got an 07 Apex Mountain and an 06 RS vector Mountain, and they're both going to need the collars and bolts, as they use the same ski. Maybe my bad, but doing my best to figure this out.

I recently put tuners on my 06 Apex and really hate it. I have a ton of darting, it's like running with stock ski's and carbides. I'm sort of running out of snow but need to double check my ski toe, maybe mess with my limiter strap and a few other things..

Now I'm wondering if I installed them wrong? I'll have to double check. When I put the Tuner skis on I don't remember adding the collars, I thought the Tuner ski had a built in collar? It's been a while so I'll have to double check that, but I definitely didn't need a different bolt and it seemed like a fairly tight fit without a lot of slop?

Save your self a lot of frustration and money and put a set of SnowTracker's on. Every one thinks they need ski's to solve tracking problem's when the fact is The Tracker's are the only thing that will 100% eliminate tracking and bite better than any ski/wear bar combo out there. I just had a call again today from a friend that rode a sled with them on and all he could say is, unbelievable! They are as good as it get's.

This is the complete opposite of my experience. I put a pair of tuners on my 06 Attak this year and love them. No darting and easy steering. I had Snowtrackers a few years ago and think these are pretty comparable.

Guys, just wanted to say thank you for your replies. This is a great site, great people, and lots of information. I'm so tired of other sites, all the model bashing, etc. I've been riding Yamaha's since I was 16 (think RD350), I currently have 7 Yamaha MC's, 2 700 Raptors, and now an 07 Apex Mtn and an 06 RS Vector Mtn. Yamaha's truly have the best fit and finish of all the various sleds, thanks Yamaha for building such great products, including electronics and musical instruments. :yam:

X2 ;)! ;)!

So on my 2011. Venture rs what's my best option. I was thinking doolies to try and eliminate the darting. I am not sure of trackers as I cross a lot of highway and the odd set of railway tracks. What's my best bet? Woodies doolies is my thought but open to suggestions.

Tracker's are no more of a problem than any other wear bar on roads or RR trax. You would love them! If not you will be able to sell them with ease.

Mountain skis have a wider "gap" then the trails ski which is why you needed the extra hardware, the mountain ski comes like that so you can have a more "adjustable" ski stance.

thanks

Blueironranger, thank you for your reply, I knew somebody would solve my problem.

When it's all said and done, I might end up with some Snowtrackers if I can't get this sorted out. I went with the Tuners because: 1. People claimed it worked very well 2. I liked the look of the ski vs the stock ski.

Can you tell me a little more about your setup? Limiter strap setting, transfer setting, toe out?

It's strange that our experiences are so totally different. With the Tuner skis the sled is totally unpredictable. Darts every which way. I don't dare give hand signals oncoming traffic (I know that's a whole other debatable subject) for fear that my sled will veer into a head-on collision and it doesn't feel safe above 70 mph. I've noticed that under acceleration the symptoms are either gone completely or dramatically minimized and it's the worst under engine braking, so I'm thinking I might just have too much ski pressure. Assuming my toe out isn't out of wack, I think the first change I'll be making is to let the limiter strap out one hole. The only positive that I have right now is that they turn well with little to no push.

My settings won't help you much since I am running a ZX2 rear skid. I've also never adjusted my ski alignment so I am not exactly sure what I have there.
