E-Brake Pads????

Can someone point me in the right direction for replacing the E brake pads for an 06' Apex RTX. My dealer could not find the pad replacement, the Micro Fiche only shows the entire assembly? I looked on Port Yamahas web site as well and can't seem to find the things. Someone posted a part # last season but it looks like the # is for the main brake pads(8FU-W0046-01-00)

You need to buy the whole assembly last I new. Have you loosened the nut and ajusted them all the way? I thought I needed new ones but had plenty more life once ajusted properly.

Yeah mine have no pad left, one to many times locked on by accident LOL. I only use it on the trailer anyway, and yes you do have to buy the whole unit. It does have 2 adjustments the cable and the center nut, like the above post said.

That's ridiculous to have to buy the entire unit. Why make the pads removable?

Check with Kevin at Port Yamaha. I seem to remember them being available separately.

Crewchief is right on the money and the parts for this aren't listed on the fiche as originally they weren't availble separately. Sometime in 08 Yamaha issued a tech update to the dealers that listed the availability of these in a kit via the part number listed above (8FA-W0045-00-00). That part number contains both parking brake pads and retails for $32.29.

Check your sled, I bet only the inner pad may need to be replaced.
If that is the case, use only one of the 2 pads you get in the kit.
Both are the same, but if you only need one now, you'll have a spare for the next time the parking brake is left on without noticing it... ask me how I know.

Did they change the e-brake in 07?

Looking at the part # I didn't see it reference 06?

Or am I blind?
