ECP filter setup (Flatlanders)

RX BUCK............ Look what you started with this post?!?!?!
You gotta love Freddie's theory on torque. I was very impressed. For real!!
Let's face it. Freddie does this for a living and I just started this to open a can of worms, which, in the end will help everyone and let Freddie retire before he hits 40!!!
Here's the real bottom line.
If we can get these One Ton's to kick the crap out of the other 3 MFG'RS, and gain some well earned respect, then it was well worth all the effort everyone put in!!
I'm tired of all the sh-t RX'1's take for being heavy and slow!
Go Yamaha!

pb.

i would raise your needles back up,,, i presently after installing the kit have my needles one shy of the highest position and have a great running sled although it is a little lean in the midrange.. i am going to raise the needles all the way up to stop the problem...

Too late Otis...I am already 45. I could still really go though!!! No dust on this ole man! :P :P :P

I know exactly why you put this post up as a challenge. If nothing else, we will have some fun Sunday. What is a good time to arrive?

Oh and by the way, this sled being the weakest one I have dynoed is not a ploy. Made some improvements today on the dyno but Ride Blue's still crushes it.

SUPERTUNER......... Ya got to love it!!

Try 10:30 - 11:00 or so!!
Lake is mint for testing and racing.
This will be one of those rare days you just can't miss! :)

Well, let's hear it. Who got greased and what are the excuses. What did the roll ons show? Did the exra 18 hp show up? What was the sled length difference in the various distances? C'mon let's spit it out!

Wow, I came back from a long weekend to see all these posts. A lot of good information though. I am glad to see some other people are seeing the same results from richening that I saw. I went riding this weekend and the sled ran great! (170 mains, 3 turns out fuel screw, needles as rich as they can go) I really like the way it is running now, the midrange is so much better. Has anyone figured out a way to brace the carb rack to help support it? I did not have any problems with them popping out but it does still make me a little nervous.

The cheap and easy way would be to simply take some self adhesive thick fown and place it on top of your battery cover...one piece under each
air filter. Simple fix.

Like i said from day 1 of my install "Get a hard plastic boot mat" $6-$7
Can. cut it out and use velcro to attached as shown then place a little
piece of foam with two way tape under the filters where they rest on the
"modified boot mat" and they have no strain on the rubber boots or filters.
