Well, after almost an entire season of waiting because I listened to a buddy of mine, I finally got my ECP kit installed. WOW!!!!

Freddie, if you're listening, SUPER job. Keep up the good work.

Like everybody's been saying, it's most impressive in the midrange. Although the sound at WFO is almost enough to get you to buy one anyway LaLaLa .

Glad you are happy sir!

Jingle Bells to everyone!

Any cluthing changes as well - or just the ECP.

Thanks in advance.

Carston, you anatagonist
Boy has he got you pegged ;)!

We'll have at it as soon as you decide to carry an extra 50 lbs. in your saddle bags to sorta make up for the 80 lb. difference in our weights!!! :tg:

Merry Christmas, you old $#@! .

So when are you coming up?

guys, new to the 4stroke thing. what is this ecp kit everyone talks about?

It is an intake air kit that removes the horribly performing stock airbox and replaces it with 2, 2 barrel K&N air filters. The kit includes the air filters, main jets, crankcase vent filter, special sparkplugs, CV slide springs and prefilters for snow dusty conditions. The air kit costs $265.00 U.S. and can be ordered through www.easterncycleperf.com or www.thespeedshop1.com.

There is also a clutch kit specifically designed around the air kit and that costs $400.00. It is not a requirement but does compliment the air kit nicely.

Let me (Freddie at ECP) or Matt at The Speedshop know if we could be of any service to you.

Best regards,
Freddie Klies

Since I was called a name by my friend Buddah, I wll tell the rest of the story.

We raced today, and I beat him by the same margin that I did before the filters. He has a HH clutch kit, and filters. I have chrome exhaust extensions. He uses his weight as an excuse, but I had 40# more gas than him. I offered to switch drivers, and he refused. If you call that being an antaginist, I am guilty.

O.K., MR. Antagonist, let me ask you this question: If you were in front both times (which I will concede you were), how do you know what the distances involved were? Were you looking BACKWARD while racing????? LaLaLa

And as to the weight thingie: we determined that our weight difference is AT LEAST 105 lbs. in your favor. Now just what part of that is overcome by 3 or 4 gallons of gas? ;)!

As always, your pal...............
Buddah

Every 35 pounds is a sled length, I'm thinking more weight in the tips of the HH's?

"wolfie",

I'm not going to mess with anything right now. Changing the stock '03 track for a 1.25" Ripsaw in a week or so...............the same track Carston (RX-1Yooper) is running right now. Only he's running either 144 or 192 studs.......... can't remember which. ;)!

P.S> Why the different "handle"?

Aw sheeze, I didn't know that. Don't do another thing except put that Ripsaw on asap. You will be amazed.

Ain't that a mouthful. You can make all kinds of power but if you ain't puttin it to the ground, no aftermarket kit is worth its weight in gold. Get a new track and then re-race. I will venture to say the results will be different. ;)!

Buddah,
I copied this from your post. You changed it from 80 to 105 after I beat you. Just like you changed 5 gallons to 3 or 4. I asked if the distance was the same, and you said yes, it was about the length of your tow rope.

My purpose of racing you was to see if there was a difference, not to beat you. Unlike you, I'm happy with my machine, and don't care who beats me. What will you have into your machine before you overcome 105-40=65 pounds? Clutch kit, filter kit, track, and studs. What will you do if I clutch, and filter my sled?

You wouldn't have to use the weight excuse if we would have switched riders.

Call me if you want to ride today. If the trail is groomed to the Jackpine, I'd like to ride there. trail 7 and 8 are pretty bad.
