How are you guys wiring your electric face shields other than the accessory outlet. Some are wiring direct to the batt. with an auto resetting circuit breaker. Also what amps do they draw? Thanks

I wired mine to battery with a 10amp fuse. But I also put mine on a relay so that its not live unless the sled is running. Tapped into the accessory outlet to get power when the sled is running. Works good for the temp gauge light too.

Dealer wired ours to CIG outlet WIRES underneath shroud...works fine...however when i plug in my GPS my shield fogs....must be very little power here.

straight to the battery with an inline fuse (i used a 5 a) as close to the battery as possible...ran ground to chassis..and ran up a thinner wire loom up handlebars and out of crashpad....

My viper was to the batery, and I loved it, it would keep the shield clear when the sled was off. My warrior is to the handle bar area, and it doesn't warm when the sled is off. Maxdlx

i hooked mine up temp to the jumper cable spot up at muni, works great.... i will be moving it direct to the battery....

nice to have no fog when stopped, and it shouldnt draw any current when the shield is unplugged...

and yes there is not that much current in the accessory outlet, i have heard of guys blowing the fuse (i think its just a 2a) with shields wired to them

i blew fuses wired to 3 amp accessory outlet, now wired direct to battery and love it. can keep shield clear with engine shut down. never put a fuse close to battery on these sleds as you can not access very easy on the trail, especially at night.

mine is close and is very accessable when the hood is popped off...in the front of the airbox..

for protection always put the fuse as close to the power source as possible

Wired mine twice, tapping into different "hot" leads, it always shoed good, but I always had problems while riding? I finally wired straight to battery with inline fuse, it's perfect.
