That is ugly as hell! Track noise would get annoying after a while without the sound of a "tuned" exhaust to cover it up

This won't take off yet, but it's a GREAT start!
We all know we have to do SOMETHING to help save this world. The more we use these electrics sleds, bikes & cars, the better the technology gets.
I rode an electric motorcycle. It was cool as heck.
It was sooooo quiet, me & bud could drive next to each other & just talk like sitting in a car having a conversation.
It was quick as hell and that was de-tuned or it would break the drive train with the torque.
I could hear the sand & stones on the tires, so i'm sure track noise will be annoying as HELL!
THAT SAID, i wouldn't own one, and NO these aren't for anybody on THIS site, but if they decide to cut snowmobiles out of Yellowstone, these could be an answer.
AND, every mile people put on these machines, the more data is acquired to improve battery life.
BTW: While riding the electric bike, i kept shifting the non-existent shifter and sometimes at stops, i thought i stalled my motor.
It was cool in the beginning, and these bikes are capable of being quicker & faster then any motorized bike..................BUT I LIKE PISTONS!!!!!!

Hey OCD I’ve got a quick news flash for all y’all thinking your saving the planet running electric vehicles......... something like 70 percent of electricity in the US is produced by burning coal or natural gas.
Just because there’s no tail pipe doesn’t mean it’s clean energy. In fact after you figure in electrical line losses and charging efficiency’s there is probably about the same carbon produced.
So go eat a scone and suck down a Starbucks with those Yoga instructors, they need to be informed too.

Truth is spoken here, not at the local Starbucks by those hot Yoga instructors.

You are correct about a lot of that. We are burning SOMETHING to produce the electricity to charge the batteries.
We also forget the processes to make batteries, the acids & leads being used and most importantly the disposal of batteries if unproperly done can devastate the ground waters.
BUT, in time we will have batteries that will last longer, are safer to make & will be charged with mostly solar or even re-gen themselves via the source they are powering.
To get to this point we need to keep running vehicles in the real world to learn how to improve.
Funding only goes so far. People buying electric vehicles will cause a demand that will in turn cause competition that will cause tech to skyrocket.
I do NOT believe electric vehicles are the answer to ALL our problems, but if we can find a way to at least reduce our carbon footprint, we can at least say we tried.
In the meantime, i looked at my ugly Sidewinder muffler & started to think "maybe i should get a Stock Mod muffler & get a bigger tune"

That’s probably a good idea!
Then you can heat your house with solar water, buy an Amish buggy and horses, learn how to pour candles, hang your clothes out to dry and milk cows too pay for your sins.......but it’s worth the extra 50 horsepower!

Well it sounds like a toy RC car.
I bet the specialists could really make this thing rip!
It doesn't seem to have a clutch or gears nor should it need them.
I work with electric motors & drives in the Elevator business. The only thing keeping this thing from being the quickest sled made, is if the drivetrain can handle INSTANT torque. By drivetrain i mean the belt.
It would take a software programmer, but if the drive can be accessed, the ramp up speed could be insane. Then traction, just like a regular sled would come to play.
Throttle response could be as fast as your thumb twitch.
On the electric bike i rode, the REP was telling me they had to de-tune it to keep the belts from blowing & there were heavy duty drivetrains made, but the cost & reliability were starting to get unrealistic.
Electric cars are starting to make their presence felt at the drag strips to. They just sound so.....................well none at all which is just weird

Yes they reduce carbon but increase pollution and destroy environment in other countries mining the materials needed for the battery's. Lucky for us its there and not here.https://www.carbonbrief.org/factcheck-how-electric-vehicles-help-to-tackle-climate-change

Thanks for the post Chris!
From what I have read, currently about 65% of our electricity is from Coal, Natural gas, & Petroleum in the US.
With the fossil fuel sources shrinking & renewables growing at a pretty serious pace.
(Natural Gas is growing due to falling prices, generally due to fracking, & conversion of Coal fired plants to Natural Gas)
There is a good graph on the page linked below that shows the changes happening.
https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/electricity/electricity-in-the-us.php
Probably the single best thing about getting power from power plants is that, power plants are a single point source of pollution, much easier (&cheaper) to scrub/clean than millions of point sources
There is a coal fired power plant right near my boat that has almost no emissions due to new stack scrubbers.
Is amazing to me what they can do with them
Ultimately, done right, electrics far surpass pistons in performance, no turbo needed. (Drive a Tesla once, you will know what I mean)
With all that being said, without the infrastructure to support us & the machine being capable of our use patterns, of course it won't fit what we performance riders want yet.
Am glad to see a start though.
