Anybody eliminate their transfer rod and use a limiter strap instead. I ripped my rod apart last year and will be boosted this year so I'm worring anout ripping another apart.

Thanks

I think the transfer rod couples both ways, limiter would only be one way unless you put a set of stop blocks in?

You won't be taking it off with boost unless you like looking at the sky under acceleration. I've never had a problen with Transfer rod even with boost. All Attak's however.

If you remove it your skiis will be airborn 80% of the time...meaning un-controlable unless you really take it easy on the throtle and out of the corners.

If you off the trails in the deeper stuff no problem, but for trail riding you will not enjoy the handling at all, as soon as she hooks up, HOLD ON, the front end will be air born!

Dano at end of last season rode without his,as his broke...and he could haul the skis forever!...lol...

you will have to learn how to control your throttle flipper on the trail without the control rod...cause it will put you in the trees fast on corners!

Wouldn't a limiter strap like on the nytro limit the forward to back coupling.

I am not talking about the front arm limiter strap.

A set of stop blocks like on other brands might be an effective substitute.

A limiter strap on the rear scissors would limit the forward travel of the scissors, but it will not limit how far back the scissors can travel (transfer). You would need to put a set of transfer blocks on to control it.

You are right, I was not looking at the correct strap attachment location on the sissors. It needs to be attached to the bottom by the rail :o|

Transfer rod

Thanks everyone, When I said eliminate the transfer rod I meant replacing it with something else like maybe something from another model year or if someone fabricated their own.

remember, the transfer rod also controls coupling of the front and rear of the skid. remove it and it may kick pretty hard in the stutter bumps. on the plus side, it will eliminate that annoying banging noise you hear in the slow speed rollers!
