It's the end of the season and the Viper XTX had an amazing run. This sled is fantastic, but I've noticed that I'll have to make a few "upgrades/fixes" before the snow flies again in December.
- My speedometer vibrates and is noticeable over the engine noise. How do you think I can adjust this to stop of fix it all together?
- I'd like to remove the center grab strap. Does it cut off and how easy or hard do you think that would be?
- New carbides; any recommendations? I ride pretty aggressively (basically chasing/being chased by 2 Apexs all day)
- Suspension upgrades? I've got the stock Fox FLOAT 3 front suspension/coil over-FLOAT 2 rear suspension and noticing I'm bottoming the rear fairly often. What have you found to be a good compromise between ride quality and big bump absorption.

I can help you with 2 and 4.
2 post it, there are more than likely people with LTX's that would be more than willing to trade, you'll get the cap to finish it off that way.
4 Hygear has a conversion to change from falling rate to rising rate to fix that.

Thanks for your help! I've already got the cap to finish it off, but I'm having the devils own challenge to get that strap off. It's really tough rubber. Maybe heating it up with a torch and cutting EXTREMELY carefully is the only option I have

I wouldn't use a torch. What about a "hot knife"? Or a air powered small cut off wheel. Thanks for your help! If you haven't damaged it already I would still try the trade with someone.

I run two sets of 6" stud boy shaper bar carbides with no studs. I have the tuner skies. It corners like its on rails, no front end push. It's the end of the season and the Viper XTX had an amazing run. This sled is fantastic, but I've noticed that I'll have to make a few "upgrades/fixes" before the snow flies again in December.
Thanks for all your input!

I like the idea of a hot knife. As for the carbides, I've got the single runner mountain skis and absolutely love them (my carbides from the factory have just worn down to nothing and need to be replaced). But your reccommendation on the new skis is actually quite helpful.

The mountain grab strap doubles as protection in case you crash and put your chest into the bar (ask me how I know...)
For the XTX rear suspension issue look here for the fix http://www.ty4stroke.com/threads/interesting-skid-shock-spring-info.131147/

1. Are you sure its snapped in all the way into the dash.
2. Might be easier to trade someone there bars with no grab bar.
3. Bergstrom triples if you want long life and great carving or I like the Slim Jims but I run them on Curve Skis...
4. This upgrade is unreal... its a must to try... http://www.ty4stroke.com/threads/xtx-suspension-upgrade-from-hygear.135146/

I would get the Bergstorm carbide setup if you want to keep the stock skis. i have his setup on myn and it never darts and its on rails!! but if you want new skis i have herd the curves are the best all around ski for the viper.

I've got a brand new in the package handlebar for my LTX I'd be willing to trade for the mountain one.
