EPS Conversion?

Can someone tell me what is different about the upper steering shaft support holder? I'm asking as it is backordered and I'm curious as to what is different about it.

Did you check into both Yamaha AND Arctic Cat part numbers for that part?

The Viper install is extremely easy, due to lots of room and the opening in the front of the bulkhead. I was able to mount the eps motor to the mounting plate & bracket, and lower the assembly into place. I did have to temporarily remove the sway bar however.

On your EPS connection, do the Vipers have the same inspection port (White 4 pin plug with cap) by the right foot and reverse area? I want to be sure the harnesses I provide would still be plug and play.

Unfortunately, the Vipers use a different can-bus plug down below the reverse motor. I cut open the factory harness, and spliced into the two can-bus wires. It works perfectly!

I might make a jumper with plug to tap in. But still need to get a viper in shop to do so. Thanks for the quick reply.

Check out post #142.

I'm pretty sure the SW has the same 10 pin connector as the Viper down by the oil tank.

Mine is a 2016, it is definitely different.
@YamaSpark, I think we're talking about different connectors.

Your 2016 Viper should have a 10 pin connector near the oil tank that contains the CAN wires needed for EPS install. This is the same connector that dealers would use to plug in for ECU reflashes (which this vintage of Viper/7000 had a couple).

Here is a screenshot of this connector from the 2016 AC ZR7000 WD with the 10 pin diagnostic connector circled.

You are correct, all sleds have that. But on a winder, there is a white 4 pin plug with a cap that only 2 wires go to that is what my harnesses uses. I suppose the bigger inspection plug could be used. Ill have to check with mouser on the cost.
