Has anybody else experienced error code 43? I was riding in northern Wisconsin this past weekend. Sled was running fabulous in the cold (-15F). Stopped for fuel and a sandwich. One hour later it would not start and was flashing error code 43. Turned over but would not pop. Called a Yammie dealer and they told me it was fuel injection/fuel pump related.
Trailered it back and put a heater in the trailer for a few hours and it started. I am thinking it must have had some moisture and froze up but I wanted to see if anybody else has experienced the same and if so what they did to get riding again. 7 other sleds in the group and no one else had fuel issues.

I have experienced this problem, as well as YellowKnife I believe. The code means your fuel pump is not operating properly. I was left stranded at the trailhead and was very lucky I wasn't further in. Basically the same scenario, rode it off the trailer and it worked fine, put on my gear, and kapoooot, 43 code on the guage pod along with a yellow warning light and it would not start, just kept trying to turn over, but I could hear that the fuel pump was not operating when I turned the key before start up. I immediately dragged it to the dealer where they checked every fuse and relay associated with starting the sled, turned out to be a faulty fuel pump that just decided to let go at 585 kms. They tested and operated the pump submerged in a fuel container and it was drawing huge amounts of current, quite a bit more than normal, and a few seconds later, it failed and would not operate at all on direct power. Solution ??? They removed a new fuel pump from a crated sled that day and installed it on mine, and I've been fine ever since, now at 1420 kms. I suggest you ask your dealer to replace yours before it gets any worse.

I called my dealer and he has not heard of any issues and does not have any service bulletins reporting any fuel pump problems. He is chalking it up to a moisture problem at this time and recommended using Sea Foam occassionally to help with moisture and keeping the system clean. I have 1400 miles on it and this is the very first hiccup.

I think Parkindale has a new pump in his as well. I have not had a problem at all with mine.. it runs like a top. I hope it stays that way.

I've had the error code a few times, particularly when playing in powder and stopping.
Chris Reid at Yamaha Canada suggested packing the electronic connections in the nose of the sled with dielectric grease. I did that, put on a hundred km's, and so far so good but we'll see.

How did you get it started after the error code popped up? Mine would not pop. It turned over and over but I did not want to drain the entire battery so I stopped.Yellowknife said:I've had the error code a few times, particularly when playing in powder and stopping.

I waited....and after a minute sometimes, or 20 minutes sometimes, it would magically work. I tried pulling fuses and connectors, that didn't get it going...only letting it sit for awhile did the trick. If it does it again after all the sealing i've done to keep snow out, then it has got to be a faulty part.
