New to me 03 rx-1mtn. Getting an error code. two flashes then a pause. Looking on the web seems to be handwarmers. anyone know what color the wires are for the handwarmers? Has had taller bars put on and extensions on the wires so... could be broken or a bad connection. The temp. switch appears to be working, but no juice to the grips. Is it common for the wires to be messed up below the tank cowling?

The electric circuits are very plainly depicted in the Tech Manual. However, you are right to start with the splices. You can also use an ohm meter to measure the heater resistance. Spec is in the Tech Manual.
Handwarmer error
Had the same problem and beat my head against the wall for such a simple problem... so first off you got it right, its the handwarmers, and the best way to figure out where the problem is, by just tracing the wires to see which go to the handwarmers, they will be in a pair, mine are black. Then just disconnect them and take turns pluggin each side in seperately... good chance its just one. You'll know you have it when you start up the sled and the error is gone.
