Hi Mr Sled!
I have the Evo's flash stage 4 and Evo's muffler. Now, I'm looking for the Evo's header. If I'm going with straitline's header, will I expect the same performance ? The Evo's header suppose to perform better because the long tube ...the best buck for the money for me is the MBRP's header but seems to have not gain in hp...
I had the Straightline/Ulmer header and it worked great. When I spoke with Jim about the flash and as long as you had a aftermarket header he said to stick with that flash.

Thanks Mr Sled.
It's means with the stage 4 if I'm going with MBRP header I will have some gain in hp ? I can have one at a good price!!

I cant say that.. I know the Evo Exhaust and the Straightline Header work with that flash.. based on the machines I have driven.

Ulmer tested that mbrp header and found no gain.
He is pretty reputable.
You might see some gain when using it with a reflash but thats a BIG might.
I say dont wast your hard earned cash on an unproven part.
Spend a little extra and get something that is proven to work.

This is what I read from Excell:
Excellmotorsports has been in the performance Yamaha 4 Stroke snowmobile exhaust business since 2003 so we take pride in being honest about real world Horse Power numbers on all our products. Since we have so many customers calling for a SRViper Performance Header we decided to put this on our web site to explain why we took the High road by not building and charging a consumer $600.00 for a expensive to manufacture 2 HP gain Header.
With extensive Dyno and Field testing we have built and tried every Header configuration possible to increase Horse Power and Torque with only a 2 HP gain over the OEM Header. The bottom line is the stock OEM Header “even as ugly as it is” is a good Naturally Aspirated performing piece with very good Tube Runner/ mid pipe length and size. The Merge collector is basically flawless with a 2 inch Inner I.D. with a decent grade of stainless steel construction throughout, even as hard as it was to except for ourselves there just wasn’t much left to improve.
May be with the stage4 Flash and with higher Rpm more flow will help. The MBRP Header look like Excell and Straightline Header with a good quality product. I can have one for $280 CAD. I will test it and give you some feedback later when the beautiful season will come!

The Dyno numbers from EVO with their Flash, muffler and airbox mod.....made huge power with those 3 mods and when the header was added after the other 3 mods....EVO's header made a lot more power than what Excell claims they got trying everything. Was it because Excell was doing their tests with stock components and a header? Or were they the same as EVO with intake, muffler and flash? This is where it is so hard for 1 person just buying a full exhaust and thinking they will get the same HPR. The airbox only flows so much and if not modded correctly, you will not get full flow thru the engine.
Everything has to work together to make power. Same with a car....you can't put a large cam into a stock engine with stock compression and expect it to work.

Excell was pretty early to the game also. Stock headers and Silencers werent cracking back then. That said the MBRP "looks" similar to the Straightline/Ulmer header but it looks like they made more clearance for the two bolts by making a sharp bend right by the head that could hurt it powerwise but maybe not. The Straightline produces most power lower in rpm than the Evo header so you must add wieght to the clutch to benefit. I assume the MBRP is the same way since it also is a shorty design. Experiment and let us know. It has to help some vs stock. Just remember to clutch for it.

Yes Cannondale you're Right! I noticed the diffence between the two. I hope it's not enough to affect the entire flow with all the mods ! For sure I will let you know!!!!!
