Exhaust Donuts

That is what i thought, but you really can't slide it forward without taking the flex pipes off. It feels like i'm going to break something if i try to pry the y pipe up over the flex pipes.

To make matters worse, i have no idea how i am going to drill the bottom of the bolts out to be able to put bols back in to hold the y pipe in place. I thought i was going to be able to do this by taking the y pipe out, but the bracket that i need to get at is riveted in.

What a mess.

You should be able to compress the flex joints enough to push the manifold forward to pull it off the hanger. I was able to compress the flex joints enough to put donuts on.

For the bolts, you can drill a small hole and try to use an easy out to rotate the bolts back out, or forwards through, or drill it out and clean up the threads with a tap. Use plenty of good quality penetrating fluid and heat to get them moving.

Well i really don't need the y pipe out like i originally thought, because now i can slide them back to get the donuts in, BUT i still have to figure out the nightmare of these bolts still in there.

All i keep doing is eating up drill bits, and on top of that, broke a carbide bit in one of the holes, so now i'm trying to drill into carbide. Man this sucks

I always drill out the rivets that hold the header ....I think there are 10 you can get rivets at the hardware(ace hardware) makes it way easier then taking flex pipes off....I can do them in about an hour

I thought about that.

So once the rivets are out, the whole piece with the mounting bracket and all will come out, correct? Atleast this way i could work on getting the rest of the drilled out bolts on a bench as opposed to a confined area on the sled??

I know my buddy has a rivet gun because we just did his tunnel extension.

holly crap. that nytro is kicking your a$$ over there in michigan huh?
try a cobalt bit...preferably reverse rotation and go easy and use plenty of oil to cool the bit.

I felt stupid because i couldnt get the Y pipe out without removing flex pipes so i came on here.
Very glad i sprayed clamps with pb blaster a week before dissasembly. I had to work mine a lil bit tighten/loosen with a cordless impact but it came right out, and the header mounts where a bit more stubborn but i threw the 18v battery in my 3/8 impact and it had enuf oomph to get it done.

So can i get the header pipe out sliding forward without removing flex pipes or do they have to go?
kinda liking the drill rivet option...then i wont have to order gasket against the block.
good news is the wear appears to be from stock exhaust design flex. my 09 with undertunnel is still fine. guess im going to rig up a undertunnel on this shorty too!!

Copper donuts

Was wondering if 09nytro24 was able to put his sled bac together?

My donuts just went out over the weekend. Sounds like a dirt bike kinda. Really rumbles under the tank.
So I guess i'm going to tear the sled apart and put copper dinuts in this week. Was also thinking of a full exhaust system. Trying to search for the exhaust post I read awhile ago. Can't rememeber if I need a power commander if I do the whole exhaust.

Can anyone confirm what type of replacement rivets I should use next week when a go to replace the donuts on my 2011 Nytro XTX?

I believe a read somewhere part#90267-47195-00, but I've also heard Stainless Steel rivets would work too.

3/16" stavex rivits are what you need. i know i get them from fastenall here in canada.
