I used rags and coveed my exhaust while it was running to check to see if my exhaust donuts were gone... The sled idled up and down for a quick sec and then it seem to run fine, is this a sign that my donuts are wore, how long would a sled run if you covered the exhaust and the donuts are good ???

They are shot, if it did not kill or nearly kill the motor..... if you held the rags tight.
Hopw many miles. We had 3 sled that needed them in the mid 4000 miles.

talk to my tech...and my sleds are just under 6000...he checked my apex 162 and changed them...then asked me to bring in the wifes attack..why..he would change them too...thats when they usually go..all of the apexs..donuts...so when we are finished i shall bring it there to be done...all under warrenty ;)! ...what a guy :tg: ..love my yammie ..and the tech too... :-o

donuts

Are they cream filled or are they glazed cause that machine sure weighs enough that it seems to be eating alot of donuts :exc:

When you have down time, like summer, maybe you can pull of the seat and gas tank to check them all. Maybe then a dealer might actually have one or two in stock. Wondering also if the newer donuts are made of different, tougher material to last longer. I also had to grind the spacer of each exhaust clamp to grab both pipes better. Wouldn't hurt to use high temp gasket sealer also. Mmmmmmmmm.......donut.

Ya i will worry about them in the spring..If I break the y pipe oh well i am going to get a y pipe made for the sled anyways...I will check the clamps and I will use the gasket sealer...Thank you .

Stainless steel Y-pipes are now available. Heavier than the Ti, but a lot tougher... and cheaper!

Is the 3 into 1 exhaust pipe on Vectors Stainless Steel or Titanium? I am aware there are now replacement SS pipes for Apex/Attak.
