After selling around 80 Expert X Suspensions we have found a few things that will help keep your skid in one piece and good working condition

First we have found that running an Extra cross shaft between the Limiter Strap shaft and the Dynamic Stopper spring shaft will strengthen and take some of the side to side flex out of your skid.It can be installed in the rear DTR holes on top of the swingarm, just double check shaft placement to ensure your not hitting inner Idler wheels under full bottoming.

Second a good rule of thumb is to Check swing arm cross shaft bolts often, you will useally find that the bolts are tight because of the Loctite but the cross shaft to swing arm tension "from the torgue of the bolt"can be loose from flexing and Chaffing at the ends of the cross shaft and swing arm meeting points.

A Quick and easy way to check this is if the flat washers behind the M-10 swing arm bolts spin or feel loose, what I just explained is happening. The fix is to just remove and inspect bolts,if bolts look like they are in good condition clean off old Loctite then apply new Red Loctite and reassemble and torge bolts to 48 ftlbs .And for Yamaha owners it's not a bad idea to safty wire the the cross shaft bolt heads to the swing arm,so that by chance you have a bolt fail it will not work it's way out and come in contact with your side heat exchangers and leave that dreaded Green Blood trail. :o|

Hopefully some of these Tips will keep you blazing down the Trail
Have a great Winter ;)!
