I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. I have a 06 GT and I was thinking of getting additional coverage before factory warranty ends.

With the Ohlins shock would be a good idea but know nothing on cost.

The extended warranty program offered by Yamaha Canada is called Yamaha Protection Plus (YPP). It will cover suspension trouble along with almost everything else that's not a wearing part (ie clutch rollers, belts, tracks, etc).
Yamaha Canada is offering a sale now...$100 off. Also, your dealer may have some room to move so a good deal on the extra two years should be about $900 + taxes. You can buy it from any authorized Yamaha dealer but check with your dealer first.
I think if you have the correct spring in the GT mono you may not have any problems. The $900 + you spend may not be worth it. Then again, there is definately some increased resale value if you sell it in a year and it has a full one year warranty yet. Likely will sell quicker and be worth maybe $500 more than one with out, IMO.

Thanks for the info!
Just wondering why are we paying so much more for warranty? $900.00 for 2 years?
Why can you buy 4yrs for $500.00 in the States. :ORC
I guess we are getting shafted on the price of extended warranty too!
Sorry about the rant. It's not the money it's the principle.

The rates I mentioned were for after the initial unit purchase date but before the one year factory warranty runs out. Some of the owners in our area who bought the extra two years (for a total of three) when they got their machine paid about $600 (on sale, after the $100 coupon).
I guess we pay more than the USA again but it's probably close at time of purchase if the dealer is negotiable.
