extroverts kill speed or not

I have had extroverts on my sled since after its first winter. My sled accelerates like crazy but the top end seems average. Does it definately kill top end? Does the mono ratchet easily I forget? I did run my best top speed without them.

had them on my rx1 and lost some top end but did stop the track from ratching. The 06 gt i have doesn't ratchet at all.

Turk, what style did you use? I am wondering if there are better ones? I used the skidoo version on my current sled and wahls on my last.

I run 10 tooth version. Do you think I would gain any speed/accelleration going to internals? I only drag raced with the other sled with them and this sled I changed so much i have no idea if they are better or worse, no starting point.
sled is as fast as a stocker but i have an m10, 144 track. also has xtx style tip up, 8in wheels, track is a lite version, ice attack single belt track. Maybe the extra efficiency of the 10 tooth and 8in and thin track make up for the loss of drivers and suspension. Also, suspension is set back I think 1 1/inches too so better front angle.

Nothing scientific, but indicated WOT speedo speeds across a lake (say 1 mile +?) didn't change at all - stock drivers, stock Proactive suspension w/Ripsaw vs. Poo suspension, Doo Extro's w/Cobra.

If you're ratcheting, I'd run them. If you aren't, I just don't see the point.... Not for riding trail anyway. Racing may be a different deal altogether...

Yup like turk said, that is why doo aftermarket sells involute drivers for the 800xp as that comes with extraverts, and most all of them suffer top speed demons.

Mine lost a little, but I did them when I did the track extension so I wouldn't have to back in there later on when I boost the motor.

Yes the 06 gt would have the mono unless someone changed it. some say the mono ratchets easy, others dont seam to have the problem. my last one ratcheted some but not sure how this one will be...

Short track monos don't ratchet. Long track Attaks or LTX's ratchet.

We run stock drivers on short track (121") turbo sleds even.

No way you can get by on an Attak turbo (136") without evtroverts.

Mike is correct....mine has NEVER ratcheted to this day...I run my 121 mono track very loose too...

Im going with MPI supercharger and we will see how that works out,without....i MAY need them, time will tell.

I personally think you will LOSE SPEED with extros,it was proven many many yrs ago.

If I run my track tension to the Yammi spec, I dont ratched my 07 Attak. But thats tighter than I've ever run any sled of mine.

Anybody know if the mono lets the track get looser as it compresses? Yammi spec seems awefull tight when the rear of the sled is in the air.

Anyone added the outer stock drivers to support the track better out on the edges. This will keep the track from bending when pulled over the drivers as it will be supported better across. Just a thought.
