Okay, so I post this based totally on what I've read and what my local AC dealer told me. The 1100 NA is a gutless POS... that is the impression I have of this sled. That bums me out because I wanted to buy one but Cat didn't offer it to me on the race program.

This thread isn't meant to be a bash, but I can't find anything positive about this poor sled. Here we are in 2012 and there should be a 4-stroke better than the Nytro!

I doubt the 1100 NA was intended for any race program. Power is offered if you want it with the available turbo. Sounds like crap, but hear they are the real deal. It's no different then saying the phazer is gutless, but certain sleds fit a certain segment and market share which fills a void in a lineup.
If anybody has a good race program, cat does, but you need to pick their race sled.

Cat offered the f1100 on the race program last spring, along with the Sno-Pro 600 and a bunch of long tracks if you were a hillclimb racer. Here is the application. http://www.arcticcat.com/teamarctic/pdf ... cation.pdf

Even though I selected both the F1100 and 600, I was only offered the 600. The F1100 was made legal to race in the Iron Dog this year so there is a good chance we will see it perform. I also heard that Cat wanted to be the first OEM to win a USCC race on a 4-stroke and would be running the F1100 in that circuit.

I'm just surprised the reviews on the sled are not more positive. It has a lot going for it and I'd think it would be as powerful as an older, 120hp Vector.

Where are you getting these reviews? I haven't seen any.

My last Snowtech had a ride review and they didn't say much about the power. Reading between the lines I took it to mean that is was not to impressive. Supertrax had a brief online review last spring. If you do a Google search more reviews will pop up.

The dealer I spoke to who rode one said it felt weak off the bottom and then started pulling better in mid range but that's all he said. I was surprised he wasn't more positive or enthused since he sells them. Maybe most comments are tainted by Cat not offering a 600 2-stroke and people don't feel the 1100 is a worthy replacement? I don't know?

The American Snowmobiler review gave less than glowing remarks to the NA1100 motor in their last issue.

SnoWest said the Nytro MTX was noticeably stronger than the NA1100, but for whatever reason they liked it better for boondocking (clutch and gear the Nytro????)

I think AC has got the balance and handling of the 1100 nailed down better than the Nytro. Seems like all the negative comments relate to the underwhelming performance of their motor. I'd love to ride one because my 120HP Vector was not a slug even though it was really smooth and the power never hit anywhere in the powerband. Seems like the 1100 twin couldn't be THAT much different.

I think they could have gotten more power out of 1100cc if they went with one more cylinder like the nytro. It seems like a lot of times when cylinder numbers are increased but the actual motor size stays the same the power increases. They were probably too afraid they would get accused of copying yamaha, or they couldnt design it so everything would fit in the sled( I have seen threads of people that cant find a place to put a spare belt on their 1100 cats.)
And if you go on the arctic cat facebook page someone posted a custom painted 2012 cat painted blue and white.(obviously wishing it were a yamaha)

Buddy at work got one but no snow yet to go play with it. I know another Friend of mine can't wait to race him against his 11' IQ shift 600 136", and I think the Shift is going to win going by what I've seen so far about the 1100na. I'm almost thinking I can take him from 0-60 with my Phazer since they are "weak" on the bottom end, and my Phazer just flat out launches beating the IQ shift to 50mph and a doo 500ss up to 65-70.
