I am 6'3" 275 dressed. I am an aggressive rider that typically has to beat down some trails but predominately rides the mountains. I try way more than I should from jumping to dropping I am having bottoming issues with the stock set-up on stiff.
I need some help with the direction I should go. I have been told by a very reliable source that the stock front shock can be rebuilt with heavier springs and be a very good shock and cost effective. For the rear I need something to stop the bottoming. I don't want to spend a fortune but have succumbed to the fact that 2 many cheeseburgers means suspension upgrades. I would greatly appreciate any ideas.
And for the record this is the most fun I have ever had on a snow machine. This thing is incredible and keeps getting better.

Akdavo, I have the 2100 springs that will be for sale as soon as I get my expert-X. I'm 200 lbs and jump alot and they have been on the softest setting. I paid $326 for both but will sell them for $250 if you want them. It will cure the bottoming issues.

Nikolai, would you think the 2100's are too much for the RTX ? I have mine on medium now, but I may need to move them to hard soon. I'm about 220 lbs geared up and ride agressively. Appreciate your input

It's hard to say since I have the MTX. If you are bottoming on the medium setting they might help, but I'm not much of a suspension guru.

I'm in for now. Wanna check on the Ohlin setup cost but I trust your judgement. You might become my one-stop shop for hand me downs. If I buy the track and springs are you willing to help me with the install?

Sorry, the 2100 are 8FK-47474-10 and 8FK-47473-10
heath, 2100's are gonna be super stiff. i have the 06 apex mnt springs in mine (believe 1500 nm) they are more than enough for my fat butt.
i'd like someone to post the real part number of that listed above shock though. we're gonna be needing them sooner or later. is it a rebuildable unit too? what model and year is it off from? ski

AKDAVO,
Someone will correct if I'm wrong, but, I think the mtx suspension is the same setup used since 2005. My rear shock was toast in 500 miles. I researched for a while and found the rear shock from the Venture GT is a rebuildable HPG type and fit perfectly. Now, I have too stiff a rear suspension, but, I'm not going to complain about it. Talk to your yamaha dealer. I think it will work.
