started up my 99 vmax to show a guy who came over to buy it.couldnt believe the smell and the smoke. didnt see anything in the garage after a few minutes.that guy saw my warrior in the corner and asked me if i could start it up,he was not familiar with snowmobiles,he couldnt believe the difference.it still smells but nothing like a two smoke.this is not good when youre trying to sell a 2 stoke.

Throw some Blue Marble Oil in those two strokes to get rid of the stink and cloud. I run it in the wife's Polaris 900 RMK. It doesn't even leave the tell tail black mark on my trailer floor. So far 1800 miles on the thing with no engine problems, power valves didn't even need cleaning. It still doesn't smeel as good as the SCRX-1 mtn on a 50/50 VP 110 Race Fuel/Prem. mix though (maybe it needs some engine mods).

I dont care what kinda oil you run, 2-strokes smoke and they stink.
Thats not to say that a 4-stroke doesnt have an exhaust odor, but at least it doesnt make your eyes burn like a 2-stroke does.
Id say Ski-Doos stink the worst. I dunno what it is about their oil, but I cannot ride behind a Doo. It makes my eyes burn and makes me feel like Im gonna puke.

The excessive smoke from my Ski-doo's was another factor that pushed me towards a Yamaha. My old Indys never smoked as bad as my newer Doos. I still have a '91 Trail Indy and it doesn't smoke hardy at all compared to the Doos. All the sleds are jetted as lean as I dare.

I agree. The Polaris sleds that may family has owned dont stink that and for the most part only smoke when you first start them up in the morning.
From what Ive been told, Doo specifies a lot of ash in their oil and thats why they stink so bad.
My brother runs Amosil Interceptor in his '03 Pro-X 700 and his '97 440 XCR. Supposedly that is one of the best oils on the market and they claim no smoke and no odor. Well, it still smokes and it still stinks. You are never going to get away from the smoke/odor of a 2-stroke because it has a total loss lubrication system.

The only way a 2 stroke smells ok is when you dont add the oil.
