First N2O racing results !!!

How much were you spraying when hitting the rev limiter?

I think that question is relative to how it's clutched....

I believe Stoutner was running a 50 HP shot and he was running the stock clutching.

Correct, I was running stock clutching with the 50HP shot. I was watching the tach go up to 11,200-11,300 then bounce back into the 10's. Engine cutting out and popping a little when this happened. I assume that it was hitting the limiter. Does that sound right?

My new clutch kit is installed and I haven't had a chance to try it on a lake yet.

Yes, that would be the rev limiter!

Thanks, I'm hoping to get away with 30HP and stock clutching so it doesn't suffer "off the bottle". But I STILL don't have the box from Boondocker, so it may be a moot point . . .

In testing two weeks ago...the 07 test RTX (23-38 gears)against a very well tuned F7 in 1500 feet on hard pack snow found the following results.
Dalton complete setup with 62gr base and 66gr base weights vs. STOCK

all day testing.
Dalton 62gr base weighted to rev at 10800
and the 66's weighted to rev 10200.
STOCK everything revved at 10900.

The F7 could only beat the Dalton setup with the 62gr base weights revving 10800.
The Dalton 66's and STOCK setup faired about the same, defeating the F7 everytime.

Why 10200? Because we want it to rev around 11000 on the nitrous. Based on this, I would suspect the 66's lightened to rev higher would be the best setup...I may do that for the 1000km 'HELL RUN' next month!

So based on the testing, the correct setup for OFF the bottle (mine at 10200) will still pull like a STOCKER on the trail, but may lack overall topend speed due to lower rpms.

Jonathon, great detail and testing. I'll see how it revs on the bottle. Haven't had enough snow to really know where it will rev stock, so far I only have 155 miles. Hopefully a bunch more next weekend.
