- 2007 Attak - LOVE my sled!!!
The Snowtrackers will NOT push!
In fact they steer SO well, they actually create oversteer.
You can throw the back end of your sled around like nothing.
(And this is on my studded long track Attak)
It is amazing how well they work, even with the stock skis!!!
My ONLY complaint about them is the short life.
About 1500 miles from my last set.
However, they work SO well that I'm willing to put up with the short life at this point.
They are very much like adding power steering AND they turn unbelievably well.
Can recommend them without ANY reservation other than the short life.

PS I use the aggressive ones, simply to increase life.

Does this really work? I haven't heard of this solution, other than to check that it is in spec.
When I move to new carbides, I will definitely try the snow trackers. Which "aggressive" level should I be looking at?

Are you refering to towing 800R Bombies out? 70km tow last week and no darting at all. At least once a year! Just kidding...smoothride said:just keep towing them out till it stops darting.
I am a big fan of the Snowtrackers also, there life depends on how much road you run. I get 3000kms out of Semi-agressive and 4-5000kms out of agressive. They bite so well you tend to get more inside ski lift so move that a$$ off the seat in tight corners.

Yes, this works.
We used to do this exact same thing all the time.
Just keep toeing the skis out until the darting stops.
However, it will scrub off speed & acceleration.
There are better options out now, so it works better for a temporary measure until you change the carbides.
I use the full aggressive snowtrackers so they last the longest.
(As opposed to the semi-aggressive ones)
Hope this helps!

Bergstrom's triple points and shims work the best for me, 7246 miles on my last set.

I firmly believe the toe setting to be the biggest darting issue to check first, though the stock ski's suck #*$&@ woody's slim jims and snow trackers seem to make it handle well enough, shimming is a short term fix. If your ski's are in good shape upgrade the bides, if not I would suggest new ski's
I put curve xs with a single 4 inch carbide and overall are an excellant ski makes it feel lighter turns sharper and mostly no darting( get a little on low snow icy trails but more than manageable).

I've had 2 sets of Snowtracker extremes and they're the best thing you could put on your Apex, period. I made a huge mistake this year when my last set of Snowtrackers finally wore out (5000 miles on them) and I decided to try a set of Ski-Doo precision skis from a 2009 Rev. I had sort of forgotten what a big difference the Snowtrackers made after I first put them on. Well, the first ride of the year and I couldn't have been more disappointed with the Ski-Doo skis. I was all over the trail and extremely upset to have wasted $200 on used skis and a new set of carbides. I immediately got online and ordered a new set of Snowtrackers ($259 delivered to the US) and my sled is back to being a perfect handling sled again. There is literally no darting and it corners like it's on rails. I've tried Slim Jims and they suck. The gap between the carbides is too small and they get snow stuck inside and push like crazy. The only decent dually I've found is Snowstuds which has a very wide space between the 2 carbides. If you shim your skis 1/4" and run the Snowstuds dually's you'll have zero darting but they do push a little bit. My wife has had a set on her Apex and she loves them. She has about 6000 miles on hers and they still have lots of carbide left. For an aggressive carbide, however, Snowtrackers are the best you can find on the stock skis.

X2!!!! 8" Bergstrom triple points with shims completely cured my darting. The triple points corner like you are on rails and they last an unbelieveably long time.
I put 6300 hard miles on my first set and they still looked fairly good when I replaced them this season except for a couple of carbide chunks that were knocked out probably from railroad track crossings and such.

I still haven't gotten around to installing my 8" Bergstrom's yet due to this lousy winter but the more I keep hearing about them the more I can't wait till I get them on!
So far though, after purchasing my new A-arms and finally getting my toe out to stay where it is suppose to, I am pretty happy with my Curve ski's and the 6" carbides I have on those!
Yesterdays ride was in less than stellar conditions and with still using last years fairly beat up carbides, the sled handled great imo
