First Sled???

I got my first sled in '77,it was a '75 kitty cat(only cat i've ever owned)
After that it all got better and better.

'77 ski-don't olympique 340
'79 ski-don't blizzard 6500
'77 ski-roule laser 440+
'89 ski-don't formula mxlt

AND now were getting to the REAL sleds(winter of 90/91):

'89 yamaha exciter 570
'93 yamaha phazer II
'92 yamaha v-max4
'00 yamaha mountainmax700
'02 yamaha sxviper tt
'03 yamaha rx-1 mountain
'06 yamaha rs rage

And now on order:

'08 yamaha fx nytro mtx mcxpress.

Started out on my dads 1969 Arctic Cat panther, Then he bought me a 1973 Cheetah. The thing that sucked was that this was in the early 80's. Still rode it every chance I could when it wasn't broke down.

After military and college, started late in life with a new 1975 Rupp Nitro 440 Fan. Learned to rebuild everything! Wife started actually before me with a used Rupp American. She got 4 miles per gallon one trip around home. Hole in the gas return line. Cost her a case of beer to get towed! After that we got smart. First Yammie was a 1978 SRX 440 and a 1978 440 Exciter. Rode with Massy- Fergusson's and many Enticers and a Mighty Sno-Jet Hirth engined monster that would warm up four guys just to get it started.

My Dad bought a 1970 Snow Cruiser for my sister and I, $750 brand new. My first Yamaha was a 1972 GP 396, man that sled flew, wish I still had it. Come to think of it, if anyone has one for sale let me know.

First sled was a 1970 Scorpion my dad had. I never rode it much since it was so tippy. First sled I ever put a lot of miles on was a 1980 Panther that my dad bought to replace the Scorpion.

First sled I ever owned myself was an 88 Cougar.

First Yamaha is my 06 Apex ER I just bought.

A 1972 Chaparral Firebird 650 SS, deemed "America's fastest growing major snowmobile," was well on its way to becoming an industry leader when it introduced its 1973 lineup.

Hard core Polaris after that until they "F"ed up with the confusion line.

Checked out all the hype on this rider forward business with a new 05 Ski-Doo Rev GSX - OK machine but killed my knees for three days after riding.

Finally came to my senses and purchased my first Yamie!
Hardcore Yammie owner today, not to mention a following with not only the best web site but owner group as well.

I began with a 'Sno Poney' I think about 71, then Polaris charger, Rupp Yankee, Arctic cat El Tigre 440 (it was so cool - I thought), Eltigre 5000, Ski doo formula 500 then 583 GT. THen new Yamaha 700 deluxe in 98, then 600 deluxe for the boy. Poo 800xcsp with HTG goodies.

NOW APEX GT and keep the two Yamaha deluxes for the family. ;)!
:jump:

What does the future hold?????? Hopefully more yamaha's but what ever is best will do. (lol)

Yamadoo

I started out on my dad's 1972 440 moto-ski. The parents had two of them which were handed down to me and my brother. We were young when we had them and all I could remember was how big the sled was. That being said...about four years ago my brother came across the same sled and bought it. Its funny cause I remember it being a "big sled" when I was a kid and now its actually tiny compared to todays sleds.
