The latest Snow Tech has an article about the Fitch fuel catalyst.

After visiting their website, I was wondering if anyone has tested their claims. The one that would be easiest to test would be the increase in gas mileage. Especially with the instant mileage read out in many vehicles.

Although I don't doubt the results of the Snow Tech experience, I've seen the same thing with-out using Fitch.

I'm inclined to believe the Fitch claims, but will make my own test if I buy one.

The thing that "sounds" good about the Fitch, is the over summer stoorage use for a four stroke. I've always drained my 2 strokes carbs and even swabbed out the tanks. Cant do that with the 4 stroke injection

I was at the Novi show three years ago and Fitch had a booth there - I asked the guy point blank if the catalyst would also stabalize ethanol - without hesitation he said "no" - now with the mandates in almost all of the states that require 10% ethanol in the fuels, what good are these things for long term gas storage - or are people buying them for "better idle and fuel mileage"?? - these things remind me of all of the Blue Marble hype for the 2 strokes when that came out - I guess people can be talked into just about anything!!

Uh what is the other 90% of the fuel? Gasoline that the fitch can treat? I see uh huh! I guess people can make rash statements without throughly thinking through what they are trying to say.

YEP good point DOG !! 90/10 !!

....I guess people can make rash statements without throughly thinking through what they are trying to say......

So if 10% of the fuel in your vehicle is bad, it won't have any adverse effect on your performance?? - WOW - I want to get fuel from you!!

Im still not totally sold on the fitch...

#1st wont it hurt rolling around in your gas tank banging against the fuel pump/pickup and gas level?

#2 fitch claims a good HP increase but yet no one has done any dynoing to prove this.

In the snow tech the only test they did was that they had used it in a boat, and hadnt used that boat for several years, and by luck it started and ran fine.. (not really a test)

a good test would be to have 2 gas cans with the same gas in it (one with a fitch and one without) and leave them sit for a few years then send the fuels out to be test to see which is better and why!

I know the military purchased a ton of the stuff for their vehicals (but thats not to say the military doesnt do stupid stuff all the time)

Not much of a Fitch believer here either. If you want to stabilize your fuel during storage, there are some very good stabilizers out there now, and betting they are much more reliable in use - not to mention more economical.

10% of your fuel is ethanol not bad fuel!

Welt mine have been in the sleds gas tank for over three seasons now with no problems whatsoever.

Freddie has done lots of dyno tests with the fitch and had 100% success rate with HP increase.

Oh, so you are saying that ethanol is a stable substance that does not go bad? - what about the fact that it absorbs water then evaporates at a lower temperature than the water evaporates leaving just the water behind? - this is why ethanol laced fuels create so many problems when stored long term - these Fitch catalyst can not stop this from happening - they might benefit fuel that is not laced with ethanol, but getting non ethanol fuel is soon to be a thing of the past - sounds to me like you might be a distributor for these things!!

No I am not a dealer just a happy end user of a great product. You are putting down a product for something it was not designed to do work with alcohol. We dont have much ethanol up here at all.

No I'm not putting it down - I think we are looking at if from two different views - you are promoting it on its HP and MPG gains - it may do that, I don't know - I was looking at it as a long term fuel stabilizing device, which it also claims to be - however, here in the states almost every state is being mandated to sell 10% ethanol fuels - for these fuels it will not work to keep them good and the Salesman I refered to was very quick to admit it - sorry if I sounded like I was putting it down all together - that is not the case - if someone came out with something that kept ethanol fuel from going bad, they would be a rich man!! ;)!
