Freeride track opinions

Got the track on yesterday Here you go:

144" Venture RS wide hyfax had perfect lenght (but I have to cut them and the extension when I get the 8" wheels on):

Cut off 15 mm of the rail tips (cut both the metal and the plastic tips to make room for the anti ratchets and the hyfax:

We couldn't get the track to touch the tunnel, we tried 3 men on the sled to bottom the suspension.

No I understand why you are doing that trackchange and also why you wanted better steering :flag:

Btw, were are the 8" wheels? I guess you are going for a offset shaft?

Pic is of teerex in the "woods" :jump:

haha, it wasn't me, it was a friend of mine who wanted to try it. He didn't make the turn because he had to
keep up the speed because of the tiny track, so the sled shouldn't fall through all the powder :tg:

So you understand why..... ;)!

8" wheels are coming, but I don't want to use offset axle, I wanna do it "my way" :flag: Probably next week, together with the turbo...

:-o

Not to be a smart #*$&@ but I really cant figure out how you could make those 8" wheels to fit without using a offset shaft.

I can see that it is space enough to relocate the shaft forward but how will you do it with the "height" ? It seems like there not is enought alu goods one the rail extension to machine the hole higher up if understand what I meen..

the answer is cutting, welding and drilling and milling and machining :tg:
I have talked to a guy who knows that kind of business and he will fix it ;)!

This is a quick sketch (you can see it on the inside of the rail in your post):

Oki I see.

Are you going to test your sled out this week? I'm curious how that extension work!

Looks nice!!

I will maybe test it sunday. I mean, I have to test it sunday (have a few part left to install first) Turbo installation is next week anyway ;-)

I need a new freeride track! :o|

Hard landing and the track went off!

What happened with the track, was it because it went out of the guides and got ripped appart because of that?

It slipped off the right guide wheel and got cought in the tracktension bolt. When i put this together again i will put in a 4th guidewheel.

Ok I see.
Dont you have insurance? Here in Norway if you have full insurance (kasko) the insurance company would pay for it. But we will have to cover some part ourselves.

Personally I think this 14" wide track was a stupid thing of yamaha to do. If it had been a 15" track that probebly wouldnt have happened...

I totally agree with you, would never have happend if it was a 15" I dont know the word in english so i will use some swedish, Sniperviper will understand. självrisken är lika dyr som mattan så det lönar sig inte ändå.
Sorry for the swedish.

I see. Almost the same here to. I would have saved aprox 2000nkr but I probebly wouldnt have made a insurance case of it either...

Btw, how do you think that freeride track worked? I thinking of getting one for myself. Think the stock track works fine on hard tracks but in some powder it really sucks..

Also, you havent tought about bringing it in to your dealer to try making it a warranty issue?

I probebly would have given it a try. This sled is ment to jump with (due to yamaha's own advertising/sales brosure)
