Frogzkins vent kits

I see that Frogzkins has a vent kit for the Phazers. There are 3 parts you can purchase: nose vent kit $30; clutch side kit $35; and an exhaust side kit $47. Does the Phazer produce that much heat? Is it worth the money?

All of yamahas sleds do, with the small at best shock vents the heat has a hard time moving out of the hood. The clutch side kit would be a good one to get, a cooler clutch=longer belt life. Anything you can do to move the heat out will help the sled over all.

i just bought some different sizes & put them on the airbox, front/rear clutch panel & chaincase side panel. also put a big 3" one in front of the radiator to help cooling some.

didn't see what the phazer kit looks like, but i know i did not even pay close to $100 for all it.

I saw them in the winter Royal Distributing catalog. The FrogzSkin website is down for maintenance but if you Google them other vendor sites come up.

Here is my air box cover modified with the FROGZskin product nothing but cold protected air under the front body trim cover. As you can see the bottom of the air box is selaed off including oil breather which can't be seen.

You can contact straightline performance as well. He's a Frogzskin dealer. I ran them last year and never had any overheating issues.

I am probably going to get some of the universal screens and put one on the back side of the clutch panel and one on the back side of the radiator panel. I think the sled will run much cooler if the air can flow from the radiator out the back.

Anyone else do something similar?

I mean on the back side to let the air flow from the front to the back and out. Just because I used to have a lot of over heating problems and when I did I would run without the side cover and the fan would rarely kick in. Air had room to flow into the rad.

I am thinking that if I where to put a screen in the back side of the panel I could achieve the same flow of air.

I've got bullseyes on the back of the clutch side (no wet boot) and 2 on the back of the right side to promote air flow. They worked better in these locations than in the airbox cover itself. I found no noticeable gain from the airbox mod.

I will go for my own vent kit on both sides. I will make the opening infront of the radiator bigger and put an outlet in the back also.

it's just a frogskiz vent, stick'em on where you want. i think i bought them from a company in MN. i'll see if i can find out, it's been 2-3 years since i bought them.

thanks that's okay don't go through any trouble finding out. Some pics of where you put them would be helpful though. Any problems with durability, etc? I'm thinking if some were put on the front of the panels to give better airflow it may cause a problem with damage from twigs and stuff.

I Didn't see a place that has their site updated for the Yamaha ones - must be a newer product.
