Front end bushings

I am considering doing that too. I have seen a few posts where others have drilled and tapped in grease fittings. They should come factory.

I have bought 4 new A-arms, they are still laying on the workbench, I will install grease zerks in them. Good idea daJudge :-)

I did what dajudge suggested... it works mint.

Just drill and tap for a 1/4 28 thread. Make sure you drill it in the right place so it is easy to get to with a grease gun.

Yes I do agree its a good idea, but the problem with that is when you pump in the grease your actually filling the ARMS up...if you noticed the little holes just past the bushings in the arms, if you don't SEAL those you're actully filling them up and wasting a lot of grease.

The other thing is your not lubing the BULKHEAD ones, I guess some grease will eventualy make its way in them...we "ZERTED" my buddies RX1 '05 and it seems to be working fine except having "A" arms full of GREASE "messy"...I've been doing fine by using SPRAY LUBE...every spring I take mine apart to check if everything is fine and I noticed that their plenty of LUBE in my bushings... ;)!

I will check the site for pricing! Judge i was thinking the same thing! Before powder coat i will drill and put in some grease fittings! I guess you will still have to spray some lube onto the spindle bushings and at the bushings in the bulkhead!

I understand what you are saying but a lot of guys dont take them apart every year. Yes you do fill the A arms with grease and it does use a LOT of grease, but, the only time that may be a problem is when it is done fore the first time. Messy? I dont think a little grease that you push out can be called "messy", unless you pump a lot of grease out. I did this to my Rage almost 3 years ago. Yes I see a little grease around the ends of the arms but I wouldnt call it "messy". It is no more "messy" than the spindels or the shafts in the rear skid. ;)!

From what i saw taking mine apart was that the bushings in the A arms and bulkhead were the ones worn the most! Ones in the spindles still look new so your better off just putting grease fittings in the arms. I like the look better with out the fittings keeps it clean looking!

Just got my front end back from powder coating. Ulmer's bushings all installed. Really tightened up the front end.

I also used Ulmers kit and added grease zirks to the A-arms.
Ulmers kit worked perfectly and has lasted great!

Very pleased.

Another RX with Ulmer front end bushings! Really tightened up the front end and an excuse to powdercoat everything.
