Front springs

I want to change front sprins and Yamaha shows three straight rate springs for the front of the 04's. Will these fit the 03 shocks and how do I decide which one to buy? Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Glad to see you survived the Haydays duststorm. Do you have all the dust off your sled yet? Any new modes to the new RX1?

Yamaha has three springs. A 2.1, 1.9, and a 1.7. The 1.9 is stock on a regular rx 1 (2004). Not sure what the other two are stock on. Warrior and Mtn I suppose. What do you think? The way I ride I was thinking 2.1. It is frustrating dealing with Yamaha at times. I wanted a different secondary spring for this weekend and they show the stock secondary springs for the mtn and shorty as unavailable. They listed four others but they cannot tell me what the other four are. I figured out two of them but the other two are a mystery.

go to the totalyamaha site there is a spring chart there but it does not list the stk rx 1 springs. there are brown,red,green,and silver in that order. i ran the green spring last winter at 1-6 tryed the silver but found the up shift to slow even with the 54r46 helx and dalton 57.5,s with the blue/black spring or silver/black on the trail

I owuld go with the 1.9 ....I think the 2.1 will be pretty tight....remember you can increase the preload on them...thats just the initail force from what I gather...I had to pressure wash the sled from all that damn dust....will be working more on the sleds in the next month...

BlackJohn sounds like your talking clutch springs. Sled you got a link or a part number for the 1.9 what is Yamaha asking $$$ I want a set to go with my long links and 12mm sway bar

Thanks BlackJohn, I tried the silver last night but did not like the upshift. I went the wrong way, twisted it to 90 degrees and it did not pull like it did at 70. Did not smoke the belt but I dont get that incredible launch either. I had to let it cool off and ran out of time. The secondary got hot at 90 degrees. I think I will try the pink spring with more twist tonight, and the silver with less twist.
