The relay is the black deal, take it apart you'll see how it goes together. Relay slides into the holder, from the bottom, then the whole shootin match snaps onto the white harness. Pins are on the relay.

When I bought my relay I noticed the new holder was different.
They had an upgrade done on them in 07 sometime I believe. I keep mine sprayed as all connections with WD-40. Learned this with my Salt Water boats. Works wonders for the electrial system. Contstant WD treatments.
