tried starting my sled tonight in about 20 below hauled it ouside to jump start it..as you know for one man pulling on one of these is a chore. now I pulled the green starter relay out warmed it up inside, pulled the relay up front fuel pump or something warmed that up...charged the battery. still getting code 12 wont turn over...i'm having a hard time to type this my hands are so cold...needless to say i'm P^*&ed off that I couldn;t ride tonight. Seems like the thing has to be in a 80 deg. garage to run and not all of us have the money for that...i just dont get it

Can you here the fuel pump?
yup..when it usually does it I just warm it up and its fine..when its close to starting it'll make a loud clicking noise then turn over..but tonight..NOTHING..and i believe it was because I was stuck outside and not in my little snowmobile shack with a silent glow..but I couldn't haul it back in there..so its sitting outside for the night..hopeit likes it.

I do believe that code 12 is crankshaft sensor and is unable to start with this code.

I am no help on what to look or how to fix.

Thanks for your input though. and yes i've read that a million times..its one of those relays but I dont understand because I brought them in the house for 20 mins and warmed them up..still noithing..but when it was in the shed it was turning over so I hauled it outside so I could get my truck close enough to put the cables on and nothing.

Mine did not start on cold mornings. Solenoid would click but would not pass juice. Changed starter solenoid and corrected problem.

It there is any logic to the design, it should be right beside the battery. If not, follow the big red wire until you find it.

Replaced the starter relay assembly for $41 and I dont have any problems anymore..its nice not having to have it in a warm garage before every ride or come out from the restraunt and have it not start..

Curious as to why you wouldn't have replaced this before! There are lots of threads on this! Not saying this to be an #*$&@ at all either. Relays are cheap & I always carry a couple of spare ones in my pack at all times! WAY to simple a fix to not be ready for! Anyway, glad you got it sorted out at least!

I haven't had the net for over a year, just recently had them come and run all the wires at my new location etc. so I had some catching up to do!
