Whichsled will be best behaved on trailes? And which will have the best fuel economy? What kind of top end speed are we expecting out of both sleds? With a taller gear will the nytro be able to win a long lake race? :flag:

I had a chance to spring ride the 800 XP. (40 minutes)

I also spring rode a Nytro FX RTX (25 minutes)

My 2 cents:

The XP in stock trim will win lake race. The fuel economy (and oil) will be huge in favor of the RTX. I like the trail manners of the RTX a little better.
The taller gear on the RTX would help its speed in races over 660'.

The big thing that influenced my pick was DURABILTY. AS a high mileage rider (3500 Plus a season) The XP was way less attractive.

Once winter gets here...
I will gladly give in depth overview of each of our sleds. (xp Tn'T & FX Nytro RTX)
I don't think anyone can give an honest opinion of either sled today as the production sleds are just being delivered.

I stated in my post how long I rode each sled for, because his question was posted today I don't think he wanted our opinion in December...

ANYWAY, I think the ride time I had was enough to give my opinion on his questions.

I will tell you this right away. If you are on a long lake a two stroke will never win a race against four stroke due to the fact that you could never hold the two stroke wide open long enough. With the four stroke you never have to let off the gas. Top speed doesnt really matter to me, but this is just my opinion. I like a sled that is consistent in all riding situations.

I have rode both FX Nytro and Rev XP 800. Nytro has an awesome engine and you will not be disapointed. Nytro will be faster in most ways vs. a 600 REV XP especially acceleration top speed mght be close hard to say. Nytro will slower than an 800Xp but usable power corner to corner in the trail and torque should be better on the Nytro. On the protos I rode the Nytro rear suspension was much better than the SC-5 on the XPs the small torsion springs on the Doo just don't have a wide comfort zone in my opinion. Nytro is EFI vs carb on the 800 XP and will get better oil and fuel economy. Nytro is an awesome sled, finally a 4-stroke the same weight as a 2-stroke with more torque feel than an Apex. The XP is ok but the rear susp needs work the 600 engine feels flat compared to the Nytro and the 800 engine is still a carb both XPs have questionable engine reliability so I would go with the Nytro....

This isn't true it's how it's set up.In the alcan 200 they hold them wide open for miles at a time.A ty member one with his srx780 big bore a few years ago.He hit 140 mph.

I think the to your original queation the tnt only has around 105-108hp it will be slower than the nytro but on the trails it will be very close on what is better. As fasr as gas milage the tnt will get probaly slightly less than the nytro but if you go with the 600sdi it would get better gas milage.

I disagree on the gas mileage as even being comparable. I had a couple buddies that had 07 SDI's and they weren't even coming close in gas mileage. The standard Rev use to get about 6-8 miles a gallon. The SDI is rated high but only gets about 10 miles per.

The SDI 600 in our group gets within a 1$ of my old mans 06 Vector GT, and you can take that to the bank. And in two seasons, we haven't had to tow it yet. :jump: That's 100% trail and we don't act up as much the last couple of years.

I ran my viper the whole length of Gogibic, to the bar the whole way. It never even hic cupped. Thats about 13 miles if memory serves me right. Maxdlx

i agree i have two freinds with 600 sdi and they get the same or better then my apex. but they also had to both rebuild there engines at 4500 miles!!!! :o|

ill stick with 4 stroke! :4STroke:

I have had a few SDI (one making 130hp) and YES they do get good gas mileage WHEN you stay out of the throttle! IF held wide open they can drink gas with the best of them. Worst tank to date= 10 gals went like 65 miles. Deep, heavy, wet, snow with almost all of it WFO! (I actually thought I had a crack or something in my tank) My daugher went almost 80 miles on just ove 4 gallons. Same sled different rider and different conditions!! If you cruise SDI can get very good mileage. If you rally you'll be looking at around ten MPG as was posted above. If driven hard I don't see the FX Nytro getting any better or much different. Hell it take gas to make power!!!!

I rode an SDI for two seasons approx 7000 miles. I'd get 13.5 mpg US running the pee pee out of it on trail or off-trail. Slow down a bit and being more conservative, I'd have no problems seeing 16.5 plus quite regularly. Only one set of rings in the period as well. ( and were covered under warranty). Depending on which fuel update the SDI's had seem to make a large varience in MPG when doing comparisons with other SDI's.
That being said...I looking forward to riding my MTX this season. Just sold my 06' Attak. It was a fun sled, but I had it back to the dealers more often, and for more serious issues than my Renegade ever had . It was not the put gas in and turn key sled that I had hoped it would be. Now that the issues have been rectified, it should be a worry free unit.
