the light weight of the doo makes it attractive, but go on dootalk and you will find tons of posts about engines that burned down last year..
not to mention the 800 doo doesnt have fuel injection..

Not only only do the motors make me nervous, but the whole weight loss thing does as well. I just read the protos that were tested got 11-12 mpg. Also, EVERY XP I have sat on, something has fallen off AND when you rock side-to-side a little bit, it creeks like hell!! Aweful!!!

what is really funny, brp went on dootalk and put a sticky at the top of the page responding to poor quality demos..to assure all would be corrected come winter

Time will tell, eh!?!? I couldn't snowcheck one based on all the POS protos I've seen since spring!!! No message from BRP would calm my nerves if I had!! LOL! I think it's a sled that will pick up, IF, it holds up the next couple of seasons!!! It seems like quite a few people are waiting to see how it does.
Fit, finish and quality Yamaha will win everytime.
OK, one question???? Why are we comparing the FX Nytro to an 800 2 smoke? It should compare and do very well against any 600 2 smoke (its own class)........
if i were buying a new sled this year it would be the fxnytro w/out a doubt..... although hopefully when im ready to buy, there will be a fxnytro ltx in yamahas lineup......

From what I read in most of my studies the 800 xp will beat the rtx in every race start to finish this does not apply to handling or reliability.

What bashing? We're not allowed to bash BRP on a yammie forum?

What's the sense in bashing? (not saying anyone is in this thread) BUT Most of us know the issues with some brands ..... So all bashing will do is bring unwanted comments from other brand owners. Then this tread will take a nose dive!! We all know these sleds will be compared to each other all winter long and we'll hear tales both good and bad.

Why do it though? Blue goggles are just as bad as yellow goggles.
Hmm, though I wear yellow helmit goggles while riding a blue machine. Does this mean something?

In reality, what we are doing is just bench racing. The true tale will be at the end of this season when the 'real world' results are posted by real people. I ordered an 08 Nytro RTX, and I am just coming off an 03 800 REV.
As I told all my buddies, competition is good....it will result in better product for everyone.

Yeah, most of us are forced into specualtion, Deltaboxes post however is very valid having ridden both machines, not many people can claim that at this point in time.
I have not blown up a 2 stroke motor by keeping it pinned on real long lake stretches. But honestly I have worried quite a bit about it which has taken some of the fun away. With 4 strokes, I dont even spend a second thinking about that. That alone makes running Goegibic way more fun.... to me anyway
I will also say that having ridden the FXNytro on an early demo last year, I am extremely impressed, what a great sled!
