Hi Everyone

As many of you already know, we’ve been hard at work in order to implement proper knock detection, protections and the Jukebox. We had guesstimated a release date for both items around mid-December but due to the complexity and our stubbornness to validate and prove that it’s working to our expectations pushed the release date a little. We hope you will agree that the additional wait is worth it.

Without further due, here’s the first of two demonstration videos of the Active Knock Protection. A bit technical and lengthy but very informative:

We will make another video called field demonstrations once all the footage is completed.

We are in the final phase of field testing therefore release is imminent. We want to make sure the system functions as it should in all scenarios. Of course, due to the holiday season, early to mid-January is now our target for general release. This is also valid for the Jukebox and the associated optional button. Current owners of GAP Flashers who have already flashed their sled will benefit from the knock protection at no cost (update required). Knock protection will be available in all Tunes from both Hurricane / Turbor Performance and Turbo Dynamics. We are providing the technology and each will fine-tune the knock detection and protections for their respective tunes. The knock protection is all handled by the engine ECU and does not require a GAP Flasher to be connected. The alternate warning method uses the Dashboard temperature and oil warning lamps.

As always, questions and comments are welcomed.

Best Regards

Excellent stuff!

Can't wait! Thanks for all you guys do and have done!

This has been a huge project that has taken considerable dedication between us and gap. They are smart guys and a pleasure to work with as we have spend hours together on our dyno and on the phone testing, not to mention the hundreds of hours of code development that they have invested in. There has been great care in making sure that the Hurricane knock detection and protection system will be reliable and predictable and we are looking forward to updating all of the Hurricane flashes as fast as possible in the new year
