The bottom drive and suspension bearings are exposed to the outer elements and I seen some dry up quickly. Good idea to do suspension bearings every second year at the very least. Its your call. I do them every year.900cfi said:My sled only has 1450 miles onit. The bearings shouldn't be shot yet.I hear ski-doo calling my name if yammie can't fix this.Dano said:900cfi said:What are you guys getting for mileage on your apex's.Last year I was getting no less than 17mpg cdn and this year can't get better than 13.5mpg.My sled is completely stock. So much for good gas mileage from yammie. My poo 900 mod gets almost the same.
It might be time to change out the jackshaft and drive bearing. Maybe even a few bearings down below. You would be surprised how much bad bearings slow the sled down with resistance.

Also forgot to mention I checked my airbox and there was alot of gas in the airbox,so much as there was slushy gas everywhere which wouldn't help the mileage either. What could be causing this?

Maybe take a peak at the boots where your airbox rubbers are clamped on to the throttle bodies. You may have a rubber not pushed in enough to seal up. Clamp could look tightened up, but not sealed underneath if its not on strait.

I'm wondering if this would hurt my mileage.I just took some pics of the snow and ice and it is unreal how much was in there.

I ride moderately most of the time to get 15-16 mpg. I average probably 40-50 mph. However, I rarely hammer it from stop and generally am easy on and off the throttle. This is probably why my mpg's are higher than others...
On a side note, my Apex gets fewer mpg's than my RX-1 which would vary more (carbuerated) but would average higher mpg overall, typically around 17-18. I attribute that to the higher gearing of the RX-1, which also had a higher top end but slower acceleration than the Apex.

Well when you get trails long & straight like UPMI RRBs you can haul some #*$&@ for miles & miles in snow 3-4 feet deep groomed smooth like baby's butt. In that I get about 13mpg. More of a trail mix I can move up to about 15mpg but 14 about average. I did get 18mpg breaking in sled never over 45 mph was torture for me. If you ride like granny mpg can move way up but not for me. If you ride hard 12-13mpg US seems about right to me for Attack.
