Here is JUST A THOUGHT..
I had the same set up on my 08 Apex with the Power Madd's and they were ok.
BUT....I really like the NYTRO guards as they are BIGGER & STRONGER on my 09 Apex,
Mr. Sled has the same set up and added those PM Mirrors to the inside of them, works great
Just another way to do them, thought id let you know.

I agree that the Power Madd hand guards should be bigger. I thought about adding the optional PM flares to mine but as I said in my post on the previous page, my hands never get cold since I added the Yamaheater with boost. I suspect that I could even remove my handguards all together now but I like the optional mirrors that I have mounted to them as shown in the pictures in my previous post on page 1 of this thread.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't mount rear view mirrors on the side panels of the new Apex (2011-2014) like the 2006-2010 Apex?

Do the Nytro style hand guards work with the stock riser on the Apex? I would like to replace the Power MADD hand guards on my wife's Apex and the warmer she is, the happier she is.

If she does not have the Yamaheater I would get her one. The Yamaheater will keep her hands warmer than any hand guard will.

I have the nytro hand gaurds on both my Apex and my Vector.
Do to a biff and breaking off one hand gaurd then rode hundreds of miles I came to this conclusion............Hand gaurds are good to hang mirrors, stop sticks etc. but do NOT keep you warmer. I am serious. THe right side was missing for three days and hands were both cold, equally. This was pre Rockmiesters warm hands kit.
Now for gauntlets, when its COLD I use them and they are great. Restrictive but warm I have no problem driving with in the restrictions when I am warm.
Stiener rode my Vector when the Guantlets were on and noted the restrictions. I then showed him the Crap gloves I had on and I think he understood why I used them that day.
I will be getting new gloves and hopefully won't be using the gauntlets, but don't rely on hand gaurds for warmth.

I have different handle bar warmers and the hooks removed. They will smoke your hands off if you crank them up. My buddy set the sled up for his wife this way and now I have it. I would like to add the mirrors to the PM hand guards that are on there now, but if the Nytro style ones work better, I'll put them on for her with the mirrors instead.
