TOP SPEED Calculations
Reading CR blog Chris said 21/41...
But checking out AC site, Tcat and RR 9000 both show 24/50
Any idea which is correct, and what a RTX is coming with?
Also want to know top RPMS/Full shift to calculate things out.
thanks
Dan

Well 24/50 cannot be correct with 9 tooth, its only 111mph at 8700.

Even at 21/41 with 9 tooth at 8700 rpms at .91OD....its only 119mph. Seems like it should be geared way higher.
I also assumed the new OD clutching would be more then .91, since BRP is typically .85

Specs on the cat page are wrong. 24/50 is the 141 inch version. 21/41 is apparently correct. The Yamaha version will have overdrive more comparable to a doo at close to .85 apparently. Should net 120s.

Already been told to step up the top gear by one tooth and gains will be made, aproaching 130 mph,now they are getting 122-123 gps on snow, stock gears.

Agree I was thinking at least one tooth, if not two. I guess it will depend on the exact final ratio for OD and where we spin them, Im guessing 8700rpms.Already been told to step up the top gear by one tooth and gains will be made, aproaching 130 mph,now they are getting 122-123 gps on snow, stock gears.
I think My cat was geared for over 130 if I recall...and it went 134mph on the gun on ice, so if turning them up(I assume the aftermarket will get on this assuming easy access to ECU) We will likely want more gear for those of us who like to run the radar gun on ice.

Dan I was thinking 40 bottom and 22 top may be able to run same chain with that combo, not losing much from bottom and not a lot more for top either.

One thing no one has looked at,is the drivers, are they antirachet or complete involute, man I really like the anti rachet drivers my 15 ape xtx has,no messing with track tension all the time, once track stretches.

Dan have you seen Evolution powersports al ready have a tune ready, they have not even had a motor to do final testing on,and they are laying claim to it being 180 hp and there new tune which has been reprogrammed into your stock ECU will take you on 91 map to 205 hp and if you choose 93 map to 220 hp maybe they made this add before dynotech did a dyno run lol what do you think.Im thinking of we are gonna turn these up with a tune, will need more gear for sure!

I think the cats got the extros the next season after my 2012? I know I had to add my own back then. Heck even my little 1200doo has extros, so this big SW better have them!
Did not check out EVO yet...but I did see MCX posted a 250kit, so im guessing there will be alot of guys in the game.

Dan the extros I had in my 13 cat were not stock from cat in 13 but they offered them to us at a discounted price if you needed them in nov. of 14 so I said heck ya.I think the cats got the extros the next season after my 2012?
