anyone know of a good dealer in central NY? I have M&R Sports and Mower here but haven't had very good luck with them and how they have treated me. First bad experience with them I went in looking at sleds with posibly buying and the guy said "I have a great deal for you on this left over Polaris Fusion. Then he tells me the price and I asked what's the origonaly price and his amazing deal on a left over was only $100 off haha I laughed and said no thanks and left. They just act like they don't care even when I call for parts. To lazy to even look up a price for a part I'm looking for or double check and make sure its actually the correct part for my sled. I don't mean to knock them and maybe they are a great dealer but I haven't fealt like I've been treated well and just feel uneasy with them.

I may be looking to buy a sled next winter and looking for a good dealer that I can trust and count on. Anyone know any in Syracuse or areas around Auburn NY? Closer the better obviously but I would travel if I had to for a good dealer I knew I could trust and count on.

In a way its sad beauce I order my parts from port yamaha when I have a dealer 5 minutes from where I live just due to the reasons stated above. Port Yamaha is a great group and wish they were here in NY. I'll keep going through port yamaha but I won't be able to buy a sled through them living here in NY.

If you don't mind the drive, about 45-50 minutes (give or take on your driving style), Filer's Powersports seems to be a decent dealership. I got my sled there, have my service done, and buy most of my parts. My buddy describes them as the "Wal-Mart" of snowmobile shops..LOL

I live in Seneca Falls and go to Stone's Snow Sleds in Newark. Its actually a little north of Newark but its worth the drive. I am sure a few other guys here that go there will jump in and tell you they have the best service I have ever found. Their mechanics are really good and will come talk to you until you are blue in the face. He's not the biggest dealer in the world so getting something off the floor in the fall is not as simple but he will get it for you. If you are going to spring check it wont matter anyway. They have been in business for a long time and there is a reason.

I made the trip to D&D Powersports in Lowville, NY to purchase my 09 Vector. These guys are IT when it comes to sleds and racing! D&D are big Artic Cat guys and just started selling Yamaha's a couple years back. Excellent service and knowledge. When it comes to sleds these guys know their stuff hands down. I live much closer to Preferred and go there for parts. D&D made me a much better deal than Preferred on my sled. Talk about customer service D&D even sent me a Birthday card this year! Won't be long until D&D starts making top quality Yamaha race sled parts.

I've never heard anything good about M&R when I've talked about them to the friends and family I ride with regularly. I have no personal experience other than a phone call when looking for a leftover XTX this past fall. Talk to the guy at length on the phone, and nearly laughed at him when he told me how much for a left over base model shorty Nytro. Not really into bashing so we'll leave it at that.

I bought my leftover 09 XTX from Fred's Motorsports, and the price was the best around seeing most dealers didn't have any 09 XTX's. Both Fred and Tom were great to deal with. At the time, he had a lot of left overs...might worth checking out when the time comes....especially if Yamaha has any rebates programs. Trades....wasn't interested in trade-in at the time due to inventory he had laying around (at the time). Things could be different. Good experience though...

Bought my 05 Rage from Preferred Powersports. This was a fluke only because my cousin and his buddies just drop a pile of cash on 5 machines the week before. Gave us all a good price...I snatched up the last leftover at the time. Their shop is large, new, decent inventory on hand, and rumor I've heard from other people is that they have a great mechanic working in back. Likely to take my new XTX there god forbid I have warranty work that is needed.

M&R also has a nice shop....but don't understand why I keep hearing negative things about them. Until I here something different, not sure I'll be checking things out any time soon. :dunno:

If anything, might be seeing what this Stone's is all about.....thanks guys. ;)!

Go to Stone's! Jack, Tim & Terry are the best. They take very good care of their customers. Phone #315-483-4329. Open on Sat 10 til 4
