Goodbye Nytro, hello new sled

Yeah I like the red too, but it will look pretty funky when I put on those blue C&As.

Got her home! Here's a few pics.

That would look great in anyone's garage. I do like that color!!

Gonna be a great sled, don't ask it to be something its not and it certainly will not disappoint.

My dealer has the same exact 11 Apex that I have been eyeing if I get a good price. What did you pay Grimm?? The red really looks sweet in the showroom!! I wonder how the standard shock package will ride???

I chose to go with the standard shock package. I'm not sold on the rear air shock...heard that a few are losing air and require constant attention. I paid $11500 + tax, but don't forget, that's up here in Canada. You should be able to get a much better price where you are.

Local dealer had 2 of these.... one red one black... had a "specail" pricing.... $10999 for 1 week. they of course sold... I've been seeing alot of these in the 11-12g range.... I still dont know what to get for next year... wife gave me thumbs up for a new but dont know what to get... i could get a used apex/nytro with low miles and turbo it for cheeper than buying new apex...

have you had much seat time yet??

Not yet, maybe tomorrow evening I'll be able to take it for a little rip.

I guess this new snow we got came just in time for the new sled!

Holy smokes...what a sled! After about 15cm of fresh snow yesterday, I knew that I had to make time to get out on the trails. I'm breaking it in Motoman style.http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Power is awesome...I didn't think this sled would pull as hard as my Nytro off the line, but it does. And the sound of the motor is F1 like.

Handling...Handles the corners better than my Nytro ever did and I had to do a lot of tinkering with adjustments on the Nytro. I haven't touched anything on the Apex yet either. I kind of expected the Apex to be tippy like my old Vector, but it's not...just an occasional inside ski lift, but not much. No push in the corners, even with all the loose snow...could be due to the C&A Outlaws.

Power steering is AWESOME! No effort to turn the C&As at all. I had to take these skis off my Nytro because they were so difficult to steer. The skis don't match though, as the sled is red and the skis are blue...sort of a Spiderman theme in the making...hmmm.

Suspension didn't disappoint...isolated the bumps very well, especially the "washboard" ones. The sled was airborne a couple of times due to some drifts in the middle of some fields and I couldn't slow down...but it didn't bottom out.

A couple of things I may have to address though. The seat is very slippery. I found it difficult to remain in a preferred position.
Being a tall/big guy, I found a lot of wind hitting me in the chest and shoulders...I thought the stock windshield would be enough, but I may have to get a taller shield.

Managed to get over 100km riding last night and am very impressed with the sled already. I look forward to seeing how it handles packed trails as last night, there was lots of snow blowing around and drifting...sorry to those that don't have snow.

Glad you like the sled! I was out riding last night and some of those driftss where tough to see.

Hopefully you get to try it on groomed trails before the warm weather hits us.

I can't comment on the gearing as I really haven't fully opened her up. I think I've hit only 106mph so far top speed, but I needed more space to keep going.

The manual lists the 128 with 24-37 gears, and the 144( XTX) with 23-37 gears.
