I was out saturday riding my phazer and suddenly I heard a big bang and my engine stopped, had my hands full keeping the sled on the trail when the track "locked up" at 90km/h.
Couldn`t turn my primary clutch, it was stuck, total engine failure.
My Yamaha dealer put in a new engine, and now I am ready to race after two days, thats what I call good service!!!

Why did the track lock? Wouldn't the primary clutch just open up once the engine wasn't turing?

It happens. When I burned engine on my v-max4 I almost tipped because of the track locked. Running over 100mph when it happened.
But I'm not so sure about the rest of the story. His number one posting only to tell that story....
Also what dealer would have a spare engine in store...? Maybe I'm wrong but I think the story smells of real bullshit.

Why should I lie!
Why should I lie about this!!!
It was not the dealer who had the spare engine, it was Yamaha Scandinavia that had one engine!
It was the "gearing" between the engine and the primary clutch that had " exploded"!
And yes the track did lock up just right when it happened because the engine/primary clutch stopped.
The sled had 370 km on the speedo!
I´m from Skellefteå in the northern part of Sweden!
Pic´s of the disaster will be posted as soon as I get them!
This is my first post so that makes me a liar!!!!!!!!! :ORC
Sorry for my bad english, it´s hard to explain something in a diffrent language!

I know that yamaha-motor scandinavia offers good service but doubt they are delivering warranty parts using F4 Phantom fighters
Aprox 800km from stockholm(yamaha sweden) to skellefteå, one day to pull sled apart and another to put it together. And if it happened on saturday your dealer would have to call yamaha on monday to have them to ship the spare engine.....or?
Also, one guy here "blown" his engine 2 weeks ago(bearing failure and the engine screamed like monster backyard cat) and our dealer also called yamaha scandinavia. They told him that they were lucky and had one phazer engine in stock and that they should ship it at once. Engine arrived this week..
Strange that you have been offered such a lightning fast delivering service when other have to wait over a week for the same part, but strange thing happens.
Look forward to see your pictures. If your not bullshitting here I'm sorry!
If your right that would be the second engine that I know of that have "blown" because of reduction gear failure... It happened exactly the same way as you described, engine completely locked.
