I just had my 2004 warrior le seat recovered with a new seat cover from yamaha (covered under warranty as the old one cracked). I specified to the person recovering it that I wanted 2 inches of foam added to the top of the seat and a little bit on the very back to make it look and feel like the 05' seat, I even gave them a picture and pointed out what I wanted done. Was excited when I went to go pick up the seat today and when I got there the person told me that there wasn't enough material to add more foam, if I wanted it with more I would have to get a custom cover made. I explained to them that there is enough room on the top for some foam and that it'll squish alittle but it will fit. She just stated that there wasn't enough material. I didn't get angry or anything (she did a good job of putting the cover on) I just don't get how if they aren't going to do it the way that I asked to have it done why not let me know before putting staples through my brand new $250 cover? I guess I'll be riding my normal 2004 seat another year

You are right not very good customer service when all it would of took was a phone call. I had some added to mine and he found room to put 1" of high density foam on an o4 mountain seat. Dont give up just go somewhere else. When it is done at the other shop take it to them, show them and tell them you wont be back to do any business with them again.

It sounds like you did the same thing I did as far as bringing in pics and also it really sounds like you found an amateur who really doesn't know what he is doing. In my case I replaced the lower triangular section with red and that gave him the leeway to have plenty of extra vinyl to work with. I did this both cause there was a hole in the bottom where there is a pointy part and because I wanted some red on the seat. He only charged me $25 for that and $75 to add foam and for the labor for the whole seat. I was real patient with the guy when I brought it in and he used a china marker to draw on the seat top to get the right places to sculpt and add the foam. If you notice I don't have the same contour at the very back of the seat section where it used to be sharp angles, it now slopes up. He also had to add a little foam at the top of the back section and then taper that to stock stuffing above the taillight. I really think mine looks as good as a stock new seat now.
