Is there a way to turn off the grips, they are cooking my hands.

I assume that you are aware of the blue buttons that are on the handlebar with HI, LO that should control temperature. Are they not working?
The heat on mine tends to creep up sometimes despite my settings.

I am sure he has a Rock heater on it.. you have to go to the lowest setting and when the red light goes on, then move up one space and the red light will turn to green. Thats almost in the off position.

correct the off position is like super high when rocks kit is installed so one bar on the gauge is a s low as it gets and should not cook hands.I am sure he has a Rock heater on it.. you have to go to the lowest setting and when the red light goes on, then move up one space and the red light will turn to green. I remember there being a toggle switch that came with the Rockmeister kit when you installed it. It was to turn off the system and return it to stock operation. Maybe it's on your sled and don't know where it was mounted?

If you have the super duper Rockmeister heater module there should be a small LED located somewhere on the dash. Green - standard Yammie heater settings, Red - the module is active and those grips will get HOT!

Take a picture of them. All of them that Rock gave to me, not one of them that I have put onto date has had one. Very interested to see what he had provided or what I am missing.

- 2007 Attak - LOVE my sled!!!
Mr Sled is right. (Well, technically you are both right. lol)
It has to be pretty old to have a switch on it.
We eliminated the switch long ago as almost no one used them.
If you must have the factory OFF setting back, you can put a switch in the RED wire to your YamaHeater.
Most find the 1 Bar Setting (Lowest) is cool enough.
Adjust as Mr Sled mentioned. (Down to Zero, back up to 1)
The key is don't get them blazing hot before turning them down.
Otherwise your bars take a while to cool off.
Hope this helps!

All I can say is it is a testament to the quality of Rocks creations. I purchased these probably in 08 and have used them every year. They are old and I feel like my mom trying to get her VCR to work when it comes to computers. So pictures from me you would have a better chance of seeing unicorn.lol Elton

They are the best improvement that could be made to the older Apex.

I always run them on low, but when I put in a rear cooler in and burped it I didn't check my heaters and left it running for a while.
The bars were hot with bare hand's, and was just wondering if you turn them off. Is there a green light and a red light with the LED?
Thanks, Kevin.
