grown man wants to cry!!!

Finally rode my viper for the first time yesterday (150miles) like the machine steering needs better carbides could only hit 80 and on 45 miles gas for 2 nitros were 2 dollars less so gas when Broken in should be minimal difference. I'm going to have to find a canadian distributor for clutching parts 80-90 really is crappy for a $14000 snowmobile when a $9-10000 Polaris will kill it no problem. I would like to hit 110 or so with good bottom end if any good ideas please let me know. There were no starting or any problems and stayed very flat on trail not to tipy (like my previous sleds) or anything and very impressed with that part happy other than the speed.

P.s I don't mean to high jack this thread sorry

I installed the excell kit this weekend and did the clutching on the cheap mods, so we will see what I am looking at for speed. I also added a pair of studboy 6" shaper bars to the skis, and installed some HID's, so I am looking forward to heading north on the weekend to see how everything works. I also found the top speed to be low, but I hear it will wake up a little once its broke in, and hope the studboys take care of the push, if not I will tighten the limit strap up one hole.

I did tighten the limiter strap one hole before I started but figured I'd have to get carbides also. Yamaha06 where did you get your parts from for the clutching and is your excell kit a muffler.I was probably goin to get the mbrp trail can seems people like it here. Could you please let me know how it works,I think this could be a heck of a nice sled once set up properly.I don't a want muffler to loud though and don't have much working on engine experience. Thanks

So far on its two first days out of the box, one moderately cold, and one above freezing, my new DX-LTX has been consistently hitting 84-85 in fairly short bursts of WOT. The first day, I think I got about 12 mpg, but haven't refilled after the second day to compute the mileage. I let my buddy ride it, and I rode his 2011 Vector LTX while he was on the Viper. I have to admit, I would not want to line up against his Vector yet! That having been said, and it may all be in my head, but it seems as though the Viper is getting stronger as the miles add up...at least I hope so. I put over 5K on my Vector, and loved it, but the riding position on the Vector seemed unnatural and uncomfortable after getting off the Viper! Overall, I really love this sled!!!!

Update after another 150 miles on my Viper. I am still babying it a little during break in, but I took it up to 91 on the speedo (90.6 mph on gps), and the last 70 miles, I got 15.5 mpg. Everything is stock from the dealer. I ran both flat hard trails and rough trails with stutter bumps, and the suspension is set perfectly for my weight (@240 with gear). I am in my mid-60's, and normally try to avoid the bumps, but yesterday I was looking for them and launching the Viper off the tops like a kid. It was -11 when I started, and maybe 10 above at the end, and I have never been so comfortable on a sled - that heated seat actually works! I know some people are having issues and are not happy with their Vipers, and perhaps my day will come, but right now, my Viper is the best sled I have ever ridden, and I could not be happier.
