GUT THE STOCK EXHAUST

Gets pretty loud, very obnoxious after a days riding. You trying to get us kicked off the trails we have open now? Power loss on bottom, slight, and I mean very slight, increase on top. It will make allot of noise and no go. Takes away tq. from bottom of power curve. The factory engineers are not stupid. Stock is a very nice exhaust. There is not much power to be had with a aftermarket pipe either. Less than 2 HP.

What about hindles claim of 12 hp on there pipe? Would be nice but I doubt it unless it was a full exhaust and you would need a fuel controller.

I'm running a Full Hauck system....Headers and pipe. They claim 7-9 hp gain. I even have the plug for one of the pipes to quiet it down in those populated areas.

has any one gut out the stock exhaust on an apex? how does it sound? power loss or increse?

Even though we need to keep the db's down to keep the trails open, a good weight loss and power gain is quite tempting to me LOL.

But..... gutting the stock exhaust does not give you either gain so I would sincerely recommend that you don't do it.

You guys believe these power claims you need to get to a dyno. I've seen 1-2 HP on the dyno. I don't care for the noise myself. To hear the loud piped machines go by my house @ 3:00 AM and I get really pissed off. No reason for the noise and the inconsideration off the few that ruin it for everyone.

I live on a river that has sleds running up and down it all hours with some of the loudest exhaust systems I have ever heard. What can I do about it...absolutely nothing. So I don't get mad anymore. I can't change it, so getting myself worked up does no good for my already high stress levels.

Loud exhaust are only a part of why we loose trails. Allot of sledders go off trail where they should not. (winter wheat fields, etc. ) This is what really pisses off the land owners more than anything, exhausts are only part of it.

I have run aftermarket exhausts for some years now. I try to take it easy in those areas where I need to, and the rest, well, ya know....

I assume you would see more gains with a moded exhaust if you also modded the intake and ported it and if you want to spend the dough some cams.
